A question about the QB

KNOCK OFF THE PERSONAL STUFF AND THIS IS THE ONLY WARNING.

It isn't the discussions of Dak that are fatiguing many posters, it is the behavior that some have to resort to and it's getting damned old and tired.

NO!
Imposter of a QB who is carried by Zeke and the rest of our talent that surrounds him.
He's very fortunate to have the worst GM in the NFL who decided to destroy our cap and doom us for another 3-5 years minimal.
Dak Prescott will go down as Jerry's biggest mistake after losing Jimmy!
Our team is in the gutter and will stay there for the upcoming seasons.

So, PAPPY, I can put you down for "mind hasn't changed"?
I must say, you are one of the most consistent posters on this subject on the entire forum. Your dislike of this man at QB of the DC is the stuff legends are made from.

Froggy, PAPPY is legendary in his opinion about Prescott as the DC QB. He was the first on record, I believe, and has never wavered an inch in his opinion. Dak is the iceberg and the Cowboys the Titanic.

Wait till Dak faces the D.C. defense.......X-rated stuff not suitable for children!!
Expect FG after FG after FG and Red-zone flop weekly.
We deserved better after 25 years and we got this clown leaching and bleeding us to mediocrity every season!~
The Cowboy Anti-christ arrived 5 years ago and will leave destruction and pain in his wake!!!!

P.S.Anybody remember when was the last time Dak beat a playoff team?????

How exactly has me or anyone tried to make him out “to be this mythical figure”?

Him having 4 full seasons and 1 playoff win under his belt and posters saying he’s already a better Cowboy than Danny white

someone made multiple posts saying there isn’t a defense in the nfl that can keep Dak under 40 points a game (despite the greatest offense in NFL history not even hitting that number, as well as the 2019 Cowboys only at 26 ppg)

a certain poster I won’t name said last year he already did enough in his career to be considered a greater all time QB than Aaron Rodgers, and now came back this year and said similar things about other QBs (I believe referencing Dak as the best in the NFL, but I’d have to go back and verify)

there’s homerism, and then there’s making proclamations that break the very laws of the reality we live in… that’s when he becomes a mythical figure.

Legends of the wrong kind.

Yep and I thought about it before starting another Dak thread but I was more interested in the perceptions of how he might have changed some minds. Because he has changed mine.

I didn't have a lot of confidence in him to be able to change his mechanics but I underestimated that drive his Mom instilled in him. That lady did a superb job of instilling confidence in him and belief that he could become what he wanted to be, the QB of the Dallas Cowboys. And they had to fail twice in pocking other QB's ahead of him, QB's no longer in the game, to give him his chance.

Is it just me about how weird the circumstances are with his career and how he should end up with the team of his dreams? So many things had to fall into place for him to get picked and then for him to get the job.

And romo’s health had a lot to do with it, and Jerry’s sentimentality, and being drafted with Zeke not only in the same year but on the same team, things couldn’t have fallen more perfectly for him (on the field, anyway)

As far as mechanics and whatnot, Dak is more than good enough to win if he has the team around him. The big mistake many make here is “is it Dak or is it Zeke?” It’s both. Dak doesn’t play tremendously without Zeke, and Zeke wasn’t great last year without Dak. When Zeke is winning rushing titles, the defense is on the field less and Dak is making playoff runs. They are the driving force, not one or the other

Well I never said that and I don’t believe having 1 playoff win is any kind of valid method of evaluating the talent of a QB or any player. Coach maybe, but not players.

I dislike anyone who keeps my Cowboys from glory.
The same ill feelings apply to the Beverly Hillbillies that own and manage our team!

And I never said I was talking about you… you did

believe it or not, there are posters who have perceptions of Dak Prescott that go far beyond you or I

If they're trying to win a Superbowl, Dak is a good QB for that. If they're trying to become a dynasty again, Dak is not a good QB for that. I say that because his low arching fastballs will lead to drops. And those drops will end drives at times.

So he is our best hope to win one, but he's not our best hope at becoming a dynasty again. That's Dak.

Ah! The yin for the yang! There's at least one projection system that favors your side. They say, "To help the talent level, the Cowboys invested in role players in free agency (Prescott's four-year, $160 million deal is going to force Dallas to be a little more responsible in spending) and had a defense-heavy draft. Maybe the additions and Quinn allow Dallas to move up to the middle of the league in defense."

Like a Greek tragedy, fate/destiny gives us what we most and extracts a terrible price.

He does so many little things right but still lacks elite arm talent. It's why he struggles against good defenses but can look so good against bad ones. I see his as a high floor guy but his ceiling is tier 2 at best.
