Anyone that watches the first team possessions and takes a good hard look would come away stoked with Free and Parnell's play. Was it great? Not exactly, but it was miles and miles away from a liability. If Free can play guard at an above average level for another 4 years that would be huge -- we'd just need one more lineman (a right tackle) to make this a very competitive situation, assuming Leary pans out.

Looking at last year's line vs. this year:

LT - Tyron should improve his play.
LG - A healthy Leary could be a veritable upgrade.
C - Massive upgrade here.
RG - Free of Bernadeau is like night and day.
RT - Push here.

Tyron is no lock to improve.
Leary has to be healthy, first.
Frederick is an upgrade over Cook.
Probably
No idea what Parnell does for a whole season.

We shall see. Could be a massive improvement. Could be horrible. Most likely somewhere in between.

Tyron continuing to improve is about as much a lock as you can get. The guy is only 22 years old, and it's his 3rd season in the league (second as a left tackle).
