A real lack of depth in Dallas

At the start of the year, there was a lot of talk about the team's depth. Compared to last year, when we had about as much depth as a rubber wading pool, maybe, but the injuries this year have showed that there is still a dearth of talent. Our seaon started great, but the injuries to Singleton, Adams, Crayton and Henry showed that we could not lose key players and still be the elite team we were with everyone healthy.

MB3 has stepped up for the injured JJ, but the other injuries really exposed us. Think if we lost Witten, Bledsoe, or Glenn!

BTW, Polite stepped up really well last Sunday. Maybe he is the FB after all.

90% of the nfl is in the same boat. hard to get much depth in the cap era.look at the colts, what would happen if manning went down? teams have a hard time building depth nowadays. a few more drafts like last yrs will go along ways toward fixing that problem. those late 90's and early 2000's draft where so bad we have nothing left from them and that really hurts your team when you can't draft. i think we have that fixed now

I would say that 100% of the NFL teams are in the same boat...at least the "Elite" teams.

Pretty good depth IMO. Glenn, Henry and Newman. Nobody has three top corners like we do that I can think of.

LB's have gone down and other than vs KC have played pretty well.

Tons of depth on the D - Line

Oline - no depth and WR, we had Price and Crayton if Glenn or Keyshawn went down - not great, not terrible.

RB - great depth with TT and at one point Atrain and obviously MBIII

I would say that our depth is up there in the top 10 teams in the league overall- but I don't know the situations of other teams at all so that is just a guess based on the positions i mentioned.

The point of having depth, IMO, is still being able to field a quality starting unit when injuries creep in. So far, we've been able to do that.

Not too many teams are three-deep.

Wow, I have to disagree.

We've lost:

Starting LT,
Starting ILB,
Starting OLB,

For the year, and

Starting CB,
Starting RB
Starting 3rd WR

For significant time.

That's a lot of injuries to sustain and still be in the playoff hunt, I think.

Based on the injuries we've had, it's nothing short of remarkable we have done as well as we have.
