would find it challenging and work to bring every player together on his team. He would not run away from conflict. Rather, he would embrace it. He wouldn't offer ultimatums. He would offer solutions. He would possess the unique ability to place 53 grown men onto the same page. A real potential future successor at one of the greatest head coaching positions ever would take every opportunity to assert himself instead of running from his alleged problems. A real future head coach would keep the easy personalities close and the difficult personalities closer.

Discuss.

sounds like you're describing mike shanahan to me.. im praying that the rams make me proud and hire garrett as coach/gm of the rams.

but the funny thing is i hope people dont overhype the rams sucess next year because they can easily win 9 games in that division and make the playoffs and everyone will be screaming we made a mistake.

like they did with sporano who the dolphins only had a chance because brady was hurt and brett farve threw the jets chance away like how his protege turnover tony threw ours away in that pitts and baltimore game.

i think shanahan is the best guy for the job i like gruden but shannahan has alot more fire and i think him wanting t.o and romo before they were cowboys definately will help.

i say we can promote dave campo to defensive coordinator or dom capers if wade doesnt want the demotion.

i actually like dave campo the coordinator not the coach.

i saw alot of emotion come from him during the season.

im just intrested in seeing how our o-linemen is gonna work under shannahan system.

i think it will allow romo to make more quick and better decisions and also help get the ball into roy11 and t.o hands so they can make plays after the catch.

and jerry has a working relationship with him from the past few training camps.

i say get it done jerry and make it happen.

jerry already fired wade's son in law(brian stewart) and jerry's stepson (jason garret a.k.a red jesus a.k.a genius or whatever he calls himself)

Ive never been a head coach but I ve been an assistant under my bro and if there was friction on the team he would always look at it as a challenge and his record was 26-9 in four seasons(high school level in cny)

Great post. I would definitely be on board with Shanahan. Mike brings exponential experience. His Broncos were always in the thick of things in the AFC.

I believe the players would really take to him, and want to play for the man. But this is probably a pipe dream. Wade the Blade most likely will remain the coach next season. Sigh!

No Holmgren, Shannahan, Gruden, Cowher or Dungy and their combined 6 Superbowl Rings for me, thank you. I'm just fine with out 60+ year old Head Coach with zero career playoff wins.

Besides, none of them can signal a made field goal like Wade can.

A "real" head coach would have the ultimate authority over his team. Nobody can do have that here because the players all know that the buck stops at Jerry's desk.
