I am far from being an Alex Rodriguez fan, but you have to give the man props right now, especially considering how he's been blasted for underachieving as a Yankee the past three years.

14 games - 12 homers.

I've never seen anything like this. He has double the number of RBIs as anyone else in the AL. I am not a Yankees fan, but I hope he obliterates the season Home Run record. He'd be a deserving record holder. Eventually I hope he's the all time HR king as well.

No, I don't like Barry Bonds, and it precedes the steroid rumors.

I hate barry bonds too, and it has nothing to do with steroids, it is from back in the day when he was the ultimate jerk with the pirates. Andy van slyke is from where I am from and when the yankees were eliminated in the early 90s, not making the playoffs...., then I would root for van slyke...Stupid bonds never pulled his weight and always whined and cried. I cant stand him.

That was a fun time period for me as a fan, mark lemke who would have been the world series mvp in 91 had it not been for kirby pucketts heroics is also from my hometown. So the braves and pirates were great series.

Remember when pittsburgh had a baseball team?

Anyway A-Rod has been nothing short of amazing, those two blasts yesterday were pretty impressive, the first one looked like it hit the end of the bat.

If A-Rod plays as long as Bonds, he'll obliterate that record, wherever it's set.

You're right, I miscounted.

So nevermind, close this thread! 12 in 15 - nothing to see here.

At his current pace, if he plays until he's 40, he'll have almost 1,000 career homers

At his current pace he'll have nearly 600 home runs by the end of the year (590).

Of course, that would mean 126 home runs this season.

No you won't because the Yankees won't be in the race come September, so it still may come across as empty numbers. The guy has one some games on his own this year, but the Yanks have no pitching. Still 14 homes is 14 homers and that is somewhat impressive this early in a season.
