Admit it. Everyone one of you feeling the malaise over the past year know what we have to do. Why is no one suggesting the real solution? We seem to be doing so many great things. However, it just doesn't feel right somehow. We keep winning but something is wonky. You sense something is rotten. People in the press have joked about it. But you know in your heart it is true.

It is Jessica Simpson and her pink Romo Jersey. Others have said it, this is not news. Why hasn't anyone suggested the obvious cure?

Here is what we need to do. Every ticket holder for the next home season game should bring one piece of firewood. Season ticket holders and folks in boxes should bring two. (It would be outrageous if average fans were forced to pay the cost of an extra log.) At the tailgate in the Blue Lot, we will build a monumental Wicker Star. We will put Ms. Simpson in it and light it up to drive away the evil demons of December and January. Only then can we get on to crushing every single team with ease.

Admit it, your deep dark id wants it. Your intuition tells you that this is the only way to appease the football gods. Your intuition tells you that we stink because we are 4-1 and didn't win this game by double digits. (and its right then too) What is the alternative here? Admit that the NFL and especially the NFC East is a competitive league where teams compete every week? Nonsense. Be happy that we are 4 and friggen 1? Insanity. Get excited about proving all the talking heads that December and the playoffs are not cursed? Go chop down a tree instead. Carry a torch. Superstitious malaise is more rational.
