Good stuff, Hos -- totally agree about Murray needing to do something about those fumbles. He's really into the habit of holding the ball too loosely and slinging it around to get that extra oomph of speed but it's hurting him. If only he made a conscious effort to keep it high and tight instead of low and loose, he could surely eliminate the problem. There have been many RBs to correct that but it takes some time and discipline. Sure hope he does.

Are you serious?

I was going to ask you the same thing. You clearly have never seen a football game before. I've seen him pick up his leg erroneously many times, especially to try to get the other team offsides.

Watch that specific play again, you are going feel very foolish, if you even know what you are looking for.

I've seen the play, you're not listening. The raise of the leg does NOT necessarily mean he is calling for the ball.

What was the count from when romo raised his leg to the snap? Was the signal for the first leg raise? You don't know the answer to either of those things.

LOL. Don't know what a Galian Beast is supposed to be, but if your avatar is of some kind of reptile then it explains the lack of gray matter.

We held Saints to 17 points which is less then Seattle. ........ what number is Saints offense?

Actually 7 Seahawks points came off of that blocked punt, so technically Dallas limited the Seattle offense to just 16 points.

Are you serious?

I think raising that leg before the snap only sometimes means "snap immediately" and sometimes not. Clearly there are times when the QB raises the leg and the center does NOT snap immediately.

The center snaps on a predetermined count but in actuality only the center truly knows when the ball is snapped after the signal is relayed so everyone has to be ready for the ball, including QB.

The QB raises his leg to signal center (or one of G if center is not looking between legs, in this instance it was Zack Martin) to begin his count.

Interesting. I would have thought that the snap signal would have been something like "3 leg raises" and so the center snaps the ball when the QB raises his leg for the third time - which would allow the QB to dictate the snap as soon or as late as he likes. For instance, he could raise his leg hurriedly to get the ball snapped within 5 seconds, or dawdle around to have it snapped some time later. The point being that if the center is going to snap on a predetermined count, that means the QB is committed to having the snap happen on the center's timeline whether he likes it or not.

Count starts after the leg raise. Or if count is not given in huddle, then center decides. If smart he varies his count otherwise D will figure it out. It really isn't rocket science. There might be a secondary signal, even tertiary one, but keeping it simple is best.

In any event Zack Martin was the trigger, once he sees Romo give the signal, Martin slaps Frederick so he can snap the ball on whatever count was determined. That clearly happens on the fumbled snap.

Our defense may have only given up 6 points, but Seattle's opportunities to march the field were limited by us giving them a short field or flat out giving them points. We have to get the TO issue solved.

Yeah I was really wanting a red flag thrown on the no-INT call for Durant as well. Sigh.

Great write up Hos, many thanks. And you didn't even get to mentioning others like Wilcox or Church who also did pretty well. What a totally great team effort though. I am loving seeing our OL dominant again, and loved the aggression from the D.

The 5 & 1 symbolism comments were great, and commenting on 6 was the perfect end. Thanks again, keep these coming :)

Great post, Hos!

The honest truth, though, is that I don't even think about the opponent coming up -- I don't even consider predictions anymore. Maybe I've bought into Garrett's philosophy but all I ask is that they (the Cowboys) work to improve in every aspect of their game daily and correct the problem areas. If they do this, they will experience success and so will I.
