Well, we're 4-2 and beat a very good Falcons team. Stealing a line from Bill Parcells, "put away the anointing oil." Just as I don't want to get too low on losses, I don't want to get too high on wins. Not even one that fits the bill of a dominating win over a good team. There are 10 games left and a lot of work to be done.

I will never like the Prevent Defense. I know the last score was a garbage score and in reality was just fluff. I still do not like it and I have to tell you, I hate our version of the Prevent Defense more than any other version I have ever seen. It worked. I don't deny that. It often does. I hate it because it opens doors for the unlikely to happen. We lost the time of possession stat for this game largely in part to 2 things. We scored fast, the running game struggled, and our Prevent Defense sustains offensive drives.

Overall, this Defense came to play today with the exception of the the drives to start each half and the Prevent. Matt Ryan got harassed and pounded on all day. How about the lumber the DBs brought today? Mike Jenkins has elevated his worth to this team. He went from being a bust to our best DB according to some posts I have read. My how the pendulum swings.

Nothing really wrong with the swinging pendulum. I often say we all are neurotic. Screaming at the TV and throwing hissy fits.

Speaking of screaming at the TV, once again stupid penalties could have been crucial. In fact, I lauded the Falcons for their drive to start the 2nd half. In truth another silly penalty kept that drive alive. Has to be fixed. Good win, still has to be fixed.

One thing is obvious to me this year. "Romo Friendly" means this team will live and die with how well he plays. When he is on, we are in the game, no doubt. When he is off, we will struggle. To his credit, we have been in every game this year. I agree with Troy Aikman's commentary during the game. I do not understand the vitriol directed at Romo. I never have. I don't want to. This kid is a fantastic football player. He escapes pressure like few QBs can. He engineers drives.

I'm curious, how many of you still wish the Jets had made that qualifying offer to Miles Austin? I prefer my crow fried. He has been everything I hoped and more. I saw him as an Alvin Harper type of option for this Offense. He has been more like Rocket Ismail than Harper. If he breaks a tackle and gets in gear he will not be caught from behind. The Defense better hope they can find an angle.

The running game wasn't the 200 plus yard juggernaut of the early season. That isn't surprising when 2 pieces of the running game are recovering from injuries. The passing game stepped up today in the absence of that consistent rushing attack.

Just for your information, Jason Witten is tied for #9 all time in receptions by a TE. The Fox announcers even said Tony Gonzalez, the best TE in NFL History, acknowledges that Witten is the best TE in the game right now. Jason is now 18 receptions behind 8th place TE, Jackie Smith. Yes, Super Bowl XIII's infamous Jackie Smith. In other words, he is now in HOF territory and he's only 27 years old.

We are blessed to watch this kid play. He is one of the all time greats at his position. He and Tony haven't been near the dynamic duo they have been in the past. I think it is coming soon though. They are trying to get everyone involved and in sync. Then Jason gets back to being the dominant receiving TE in the NFL.

In addition to climbing the TE receptions ladder, Jason is within reach of being #2 on the all time Cowboys receptions list. Emmitt is #3 at 486. That is now only 24 receptions ahead of Witten. Drew Pearson is #2 all time at 489, a mere 27 ahead of Jason. Amazing young man.

I don't know how to express how thankful I am for Joe DeCamillis. Remember when Jerry and Wade were over rating him? Remember when a few posters said "bring back Bruce Read?" Those posters should be mooned by a chorus of fat people. I used to dread special teams. Now, I just need to dread the Prevent Defense. Okay, I already ranted about that and will move on. I trust our Special Teams. I can't believe I am saying that.

The last thing I want to discuss is the guy who I think is as responsible for today's success as anyone. Keith Brooking, I am proud to enjoy watching the way you play football. I wasn't too excited about you coming here. Oh my, was I wrong. Thank you. It has been a pleasure sir.

I enjoyed today. Hope you did too.

Jenkins is our best corner. I've come to eat my crow. Miles is running superb routes, coming back to the ball, and making all the catches, even in the most narrowest windows. It seems like he's very hard to tackle as well. I'm really impressed with his game.

From the right angle Brookings reminds me of Sly Stallone...... for an old vet he sure fills a huge void in the ra-ra dept.....

every now and then our young secondary throws out a headhunter persona...starting with A.Ball hit last week, throw in a couple more today including Jenkins......

.....Jenkins has come along way from the rap of avoiding the Giant rb last year to be more than willing to mix it up so far this year.....:starspin

Still don't like us forcing the ball to Barber despite him clearly not being 100%, but I'll take the W.

Miles Austin, wow. That's all I have to say.

Can't forget Newman's hit right after that play. I loved seeing the two of them celebrate together after that. Our D showed a little bit of nastiness that I've been hoping to see.

No comments about Roy? :D
He and Romo were off. No doubt about it. I wasn't too concerned about it. Not shocked that you guys were though. Par.

I don't know why but it didn't post Bob's post. I meant for it to say this to all 3. Not just Larry and Moe.

Lets get down to reality.

Good game, every facet brought it with their special player or players, Sensabaugh and Jenkins might have been great today but all that is from the leadership of Brookings whose been sparking this team to play their best.

On offense was Miles Austin and Witten. Romo played very well, but a qb has got to be connected to a receiver of some sort and Austin is giving us our deep threat and Witten does everything and anything asked of this team. He is a leader and solider you can go to war with any day and twice on Sunday.

On ST is all Folk and Beuhler. I know it sucks carrying a second kicker, but his leg is steel and Folk has ice in his veins. I saw that sun and figured that kick was going to be hard. All the fans know what our kicking situation was before Folk and now Folk makes it a given. It is a blessing to behold.

I really felt the defense made the big statement today. I think Jenkins said hes the new number 1, I think Scandrick is making a play for number 2 tho. I dont know whats wrong with Newman but something has to be done for him. Everyone is happy Sensa signed with us and Thank Joe D for showing this team what hes made of.

This team brought it against a very good team that most people were saying were heading to the playoffs and right now we sent thier confidence into turmoil. You know people are going to be questioning this loss tomorrow.

Who has Rossum being cut tomorrow?

I wonder were the "Dallas won't have any big plays now that TO is gone" comments are.
