A trade idea that might make some sense

Interesting idea for sure. Not trying to take pot shots but it does beg a few questions:

- Who would Tampa be trading up for?
- Who would be Tampa's backup QB?
- What would we then do at #9?

- Who would Tampa be trading up for? Myles Jack
- Who would be Tampa's backup QB? Draft someone....
- What would we then do at #9? Lawson

Glennon, no thanks. Just another goofy looking jag who will never amount to anything more than a low level backup.

I agree. We could set this team up great with that kind of haul. Even in that trade we could get Lynch then use the three round 2s and our 3rd to help build a better team now is to great to pass up.

Even if we go DL at 15 with Rankins or Billings. ...maybe Lawson our Spence then grab a QB in 2-4 to develop would be great. Lots of options there

Don't waste a pick on any QB other than the top three. This developing a QB stuff is complete BS.

Glennon's ceiling is Steve Pelluer.

Only current backup at QB i'm vaguely interested in is Garoppolo. Keep the Eastern Illinois pipeline going.

This is actually an interesting idea. I'd sort of rejected the idea of trading for a QB who's about to hit the market and look for a chance to start, but I like Glennon a lot as a backup. And we'd have lots of options at 9 that would work well for us, plus another top-100 pick.

It's a deal I wouldn't make until I saw who was there at 4, of course, because if Ramsey's there I like that pick better. But if the QB(s) we like are gone, this gives us a year at least to develop a player we like and still back up Romo. I agree that there's a chance Glennon develops into a capable starter given protection and the weapons we've got on offense. In fact, I think the Jets and the Broncos should be talking about bringing him in already.

Can't disagree more with this line of thinking

Your pick for future franchise QB should be someone you either believe in or you don't

If you believe Glennon can be yours franchise QB you make this deal now

If you think he is not you don't make this deal at all

We need both a young QB to develop and a legitimate backup for Romo. Glennon is an upgrade over Kellen Moore and buys you at least a year to develop a younger player. In a scenario where the QB you like is not available at #4, it's a viable fallback.

I see your point But you are losing out on the chance to draft your franchise QB at 4 for someone you don't think can be more than a back up

Sounds too much like a cop out
I'm not a fan

It only works if the QB(s) you want is taken. You and I actually agree that we ought to go QB at 4 this year.
