Don't get me wrong, this is bad, but does the NFC Championship appearance matter that much if you are NOT winning the Super Bowl? To reach or win any Super Bowl, each franchise must field a team competitive enough to accomplish the goal. The graphic reflects the Cowboys non-competitive efforts relative to the other franchises' goal achievement during the same span.

Certainly, winning a Super Bowl is every team's goal. Or it should be. Conference championship games are the gateway to a Super Bowl. Dallas has not stepped inside that gateway--not even dipped a toe in it--for several decades. This thread's graphic is just as fundamentally sound as the last Super Bowl win graphic for that reason alone.
