Aaron Rodgers has dominated Rod Marinelli defenses

Not only is this weekend's Packers-Cowboys game the first time the two teams have squared off in a playoff game at Lambeau Field since the Ice Bowl in 1967, it is also a chance for Aaron Rodgers to once again face a defense coached by Rod Marinelli. The former Lions coach and Bears assistant head coach and defensive coordinator is now the defensive coordinator in Dallas.

From 2008 through 2012, Rodgers faced a Marinelli-coached defense 10 times in the regular season and once in the playoffs, acquitting himself very nicely, to say the least.

Total dominance. Despite facing defenses that, on average, ranked in the top-third of the NFL by Football Outsiders' DVOA, Rodgers completed more than two-thirds of his passes for over 8.0 yards per attempt, and had a passer rating that would rank as the second-best all-time for quarterbacks who have thrown at least 500 passes in their career.

lots of sub 300 yard games on that list. and more sub 100 qb rating games than over 100 rating games.

I think the word "Dominated" is a major stretch, considering the Packers only scored over 30 points once, sans the 0-16 Lions, and had two games with less than 20.

It's already given the Cowboys current defense is no match for Rodgers, but how many of those Chicago/Detroit teams had a decent offense? Probably zero,,, keep him off the field!

Haha! 280 yards and 2TDs per game?! I will take that all day long, every single day, against Aaron Rodgers!

Yea, and while a 104.2 QB rating is good for most QBs... for Rodgers it is sort of average to below average. I don't see the big deal.

based on his numbers Rodgers has done well vs the majority of DC in the league. I respect Rodgers but this is a team game.

One thing that jumps out at you is the obvious none of those teams had offenses.

He scored over 30 points only three times and each of those times by a margin of 10 or more... Ie no pressure from the opposing offense at all.

It also doesn't say anything about field position.

Looks like he held him to 24 or less in 7 games out of 11...

If the offense can control the game and not turn the ball over, these numbers look pretty good to me. However we aren't the bears defense either...

Like others - I'm failing to see the dominance there. Not a lot of points put up usually. Sounds good for us.
