It's important sir to show that your QB does more of his scoring being chased then in the pocket,which as you know would validate my point..Again i bet my bottom dollar he scores more on the run then in the pocket..BET IT!!

We see Romo as a great QB.

We've seen him make plays on his own....and we've seen stay within the design.

This is silly....Staubach made plays scrambling....Favre did too....so did Elway...McNabb does it all the time too.

Why is it so bad to see a QB scramble out and make a big play? I know you're stating that he can't drive a team down the field...but we've already said that's false.

He drives us down the field all the time.

Winning teams tend to run the ball more BECAUSE they are winning. They don't win because they run the ball more. Running the ball better helps you win, of course, but passing better (not necessarily more, but better) is the key to winning in the NFL.

Passing is the best most effecient way to move the football under the current rules.

Defensive backs can no longer invade a receivers personal space, 5 yards down the field.
When attempting to tackle these receivers, they now must do it nicely.
And offensive lineman are now basically allowed to hold when pass blocking.

Maybe its just me, but I distincly remember a time when offensive holding was called more often on pass plays than run plays.

Don't have stats to back this up, but it now appears that holding is called more often on runnunig plays.


You still have to run the ball. Because the more times you effectively run the ball in any given game, the harder you make it on the defense to defend the pass and more importantly rush the passer.

It also significantly increases the chances your QB will play 16 games.
