Absolutely amazing!

Toe to toe with the world champs . I thought it was a great game. If we meet again I believe we beat them
Remember the Bucs had 4 turnovers and they had over 100 yards in penalties and they still beat the Cowboys. If they were to meet again (very unlikely) They probably won't have the turnovers or that many penalties.

Celebrating a loss as if it's a participation trophy. Welcome to society today.
I’m not one for participation trophies but I’m also against a Gold Medal society. Where greatness and success is only measured by winning it all.

But I think when we have a franchise that’s missed the playoffs in consecutive seasons and 3 out of the last 4 seasons taking the SB Champs on the road to the brink is a confidence builder . Especially when most didn’t give us much of a chance .

I understand in the NFL we don’t have moral victories but if we were wanting to use our first game with the Champs as an early barometer, I’d argue we measured up pretty well.

It doesn’t mean we still don’t see our weaknesses and still have many concerns but with all of the question marks coming in I think we should feel a little better. But only if we build on this performance which begins this Sunday.

Things have changed with the fan base when a loss is celebrated.
You have to remember this isn’t a championship caliber franchise anymore. Only in name. Unfortunately it hasn’t been for a generation. Yes, it’s time for all fans to adjust their expectations accordingly .

All I asked for is to be competent and competitive. We did that.

And if we do that every game....we're gonna win most of them..

Good game Cowboys! Keep it up!
Yep

If we play like that we’ll win more than we lose. Remember we won’t see another playoff team from last year until week 11 in KC.

Yes you have to adjust your expectations but I wouldn't celebrate a close loss and don't accept an average team. Expect the Cowboys to get the best coach, front office and get the best players possible. Then compete for a Superbowl. That is what fans should expect from the franchise that's the richest most watched team with a great history.

I understand that’s what we want to expect but it’s not reasonable with our current ownership in place which doesn’t pursue the best coaches and front office possible. That alone lowers our expectations.

Being the wealthiest franchise we should afford a dream team front office and coaching staff to run our football operations attempting to build great teams. But instead we run Cowboys Football like a Mom & Pop operation . It’s shameful for a franchise with our rich history.

This ownership tried hiring the best coaching staff but winning back to back championships wasn’t enough because Jethro didn’t receive the credit he was looking for. And why the Bar has been lowered here since cause winning isn’t the top priority or he’d step aside.

That’s part of the game, so Who do you think creates those turnovers What about the final penalty that wasn’t Called and digs. My statement stands it was an amazing game put out by the Cowboys

I thought Zeke looked especially slow tonight .

was it the camera angles ?
Not the camera angles......just a pretense on Zeke, a poor run-blocking OL, an abandonment of the run game early, baffling situational play-callin', and a failing coaching staff. That's all.

This is the best I seen Elliot. Pass blocking. He actually had lateral movement

He's generally been overlooked by his pass protection.....and that is a flaw that TPollard has, in comparison to Zeke. BTW and obviously TPollard ain't in the scheme to run either, thus far. So our RBs arent' good enough to be in the game plan......See Pittsburgh and LACharger ypc yesterday, and they both gave more carries to the RBs.

Tampa Bay is a very good team that didn't look great against the Cowboys. They had a lot of penalties and turn overs. They are a better team than the Cowboys. The Cowboys played a good game, but the better team won.

Agree 100%.

While Dallas put up a better fight than I expected, "absolutely amazing" is not something I would ever say about a loss.

The thread title would suggest we won the game. This is the best I’ve ever seen fans feel about a loss. Even fat head McCarthy seemed pretty upbeat after the loss. No one is going to feel very good a week from now if we lose to the Chargers even if it’s a great game. To me a loss is a loss! The day you start feeling good about your performances in a loss is the day you’ve conceded you’re not a very good team. There isn’t anything amazing about losing a game regardless how good the opponent.

Nothing amazing about a game you lost because of special teams and not being able to make a critical stop. The only thing amazing was Dak’s performance after such a long layoff.

The INT on the hail mary before half really should not be considered a turnover. It did no more damage than any other incomplete pass. As for the 100 yards in penalties.. I think something like 60 yards of that came on pass interference calls.. which if not for the guy mugging the receivers would have been completed passes so they had zero impact on the game. And their secondary aint gonna get any better at covering our receivers over the next 3 months so they might end up committing just as many PIs or more.. And MAYBE they'll get called for one or two of the dozen holds against Lawrence and Gregory.. Just sayin..
