cause i used to be a huge fan of a very good player in roy williams. i'm no longer a fan of player who has stopped prodicing and playing at a high level. he stopped playing at a high level after he got his big contract.

Sean Taylor is no longer in the league, and this argument if beyond passing stupid.

Whether or not Roy Williams is a probowl player this year is definitional. It's not a subjective topic for you to debate. It's an objective fact. Look around at the people on the board who are agreeing with you. Compare them with the people who are lined up against you. Quit embarrassing yourself, and quit using a thread that should be a congratulation for the hard work of the 12 players on this team who were recognized for their performance this year as another excuse to bash on a member of the team you're supposed to be such a fan of.

Whatever. Clearly, many fans disagree with you. Clearly, enough of his peers disagree with you. Clearly, enough NFC coaches also disagree with you. Andy Reid was just quoted today saying Roy is a heck of a player. Our own front office and scouting department thinks enough of him that they recently gave the guy a huge new contract.

What, exactly, are you hoping to gain with this lonely crusade? Seriously? Do you want the rest of us to say that we think he's a bad player, too? I think even his biggest supporters at this point freely admit he's not the player he was early on in the league right now. Isn't that enough?

I have bashed him for two primary reasons. Let me say that first, his coverage is what it is -- folks expect way too much from a strong safety.

Bashing reason A: Roy is far too thin skinned. Players who can't take criticism have no place in this league.

Bashing reason B: Most of us expected Roy to step up and lead this defense. He has failed at that. He never took a leadership role when Woodson went down and still isn't a leader. I think this hurt the D as several players seemed to expect his leadership that never came.

Does this mean that I don't want to see Roy succeed -- not at all. I like what he can bring as a player and am the first to jump up and yell "way to go Roy" when he lays lumber. But that doesn't mean that there are not legitimate concerns with what he brings to this team.

uhhh Hello Taylor is not playing and never will again. Its pretty pathetic that you keep bringing up his memory to try and degrade a player who was his friend.

Roy like it or not is a 5 time pro bowler, the coaches and players agree. Little kids votes like yours werent counted.

Typical for you.

Let me spell it slowly, it's called an A-N-A-L-O-G-Y.

Thanks for remaining a charter member of the useless Roy butt-kissing club.

This is hilarious. Roy gets recognition from his peers......and the haters want to ***** and moan about one of our players....

Guess this really was a terrible day for them.

Why so much hate of one of the Cowboys? It isn't like he killed some one, beat his spouse, got caught DWI.

Ok, so he didn't play up to your expectations, so friggin what? Obviously fans, his peers and coaches doesn't agree with you.

If you don't agree with Roy's selection, fine but spewing so much hate on a player who plays for your favorite team is mind boggling.

Shame Ellis couldn't get in, because he's put up great numbers in a shortened season.

Cowboys have a pretty mediocre secondary. I just can't believe Newman, Roy Williams and Hamlin made it to the probowl. Tampa Bay's defense is ranked 3 in the league, yet not even one player made it to the probowl. To compare, Tampa Bay gives up 174 passing yards a game, whereas Dallas gives up 217(ranked 16), which is a huge difference. Tampa Bay's pass defense is ranked 2 in the league, only behind Indianapolis. Ronde Barber should go over Newman. I don't think Cowboys are that good defensively. Demarcus Ware has to be selected to the probowl, he is just too good. Newman? Hamlin? Roy Williams? Come on now. There are better defenses in the league. To be fair, Cowboys have an excellent run defense. Players responsible for stopping the run deserve it more than players responsible for stopping the pass.

You think maybe the reason the Cowboys are ranked "mediocre" in the passing game (ypg) is because teams are throwing a bunch trying to play catch up?

6th in YPA (Meaning, teams are having to throw a ton on us to rack up yards)
5th in Completion percentage (Meaning, teams aren't completing a high percentage of their passes against us, further demonstrating, they are having to throw the ball - a lot - against us to rack up yardage)
5th in QB Rating (Teams aren't being efficient or good when throwing the ball against us)
5th in INTs (Meaning, teams are turning the ball over against us when they do throw)

Yeah, I'd say our secondary probably deserves a Pro Bowler or two.

But hey, don't let little things, like facts, get in the way of your agenda.

Being selected as an alternative and then going because a starter either backs out or is hurt (or killed tragically), doesnt mean you are not a probowler.

Vince Young was a probowler last year because he was an alternate. In fact, many, many players who go to the probowl are alternates.

Do you have the balls to admit being selected as an alternate is being recognized by your peers? Do you have the balls to admit that if you do go to the probowl as an alternate, that you are still considered a probowler?

And show some respect to Adam, he is one of the most respected members on the board.

Barber wasn't even leading the poll so what's that mean?

That means his peers and coaches around the league, who obviously respects Barber enough to select him.
