Unsure whether this was addressed anywhere in this really long thread, but what a stupid post. Cheap sacks? Do you watch football?

If anything, Ware had 1-2 'cheap sacks' against the eagles when they neglected to put ANYONE on him.
I would agree that you could classify them as "cheap" or "scheme" sacks. It's certainly not amazing in that he beat a guy - the protection just failed to account for him. I'm sure the Eagles had someone taht should have picked that up, so I don't think you can say "they neglected to put anyone on him." Just a great playcall at the right moment.

Ellis was getting quite a few clean up sacks to start the year. But he has picked his game up since then.

...to pile on this post. :D

I probably would have picked Phillips from Tampa Bay. He plays a Tampa2 which means that he actually has to cover. Playing safety in that scheme is much more difficult IMO. Your safeties have to be both smart and athletic. Jermaine Phillips is having an excellent year for Tampa Bay IMO. I think you could make a decent case for Laron Landry or Chris Harris as well and that's just at Strong Safety. There are a couple of additional guys that you could look at at FS.

The poison pill would only be if we tagged him I think, and then it could only be pulled off if we were dumb enough to transition tag him. As it is, at season's end, we can offer him the highest tender (RFA - first and third round, I think it's 2 million for the year) and if someone brings the house for him, and we don't match, then we get a first and third rounder.

Atari Bigby is having a good year, better than Roys anyway, for the Packers.

I think that if your going to talk about sacks, then you get into a bit of a sticky mess. Osi has 12 sacks, of which, 6 came against Philly and a rookie LT. He's only had one other mutiple sack game all seasons (Minn. w/2) and he's had 7 games in which he has registered 0 sacks.

There are active threads on this very board with Packer fans posting that this statement is nuts. Some of them don't expect Atari to start for GB next year.

I guess if you say it enough times, it must be true.

Try living in Packerland.

Then come back and tell me that Packer fans love Bigby.

This is a case of hoping if you repeat it enough times in multiple threads, people may start to believe it is true.

Oh, without a doubt.

The only people I come across who think Bigby is actually good are the ones believing McCarthy that all 5 of their WRs could start anywhere.

I also once heard an old guy (Packers fan too) at the Campus Bookstore tell an equally old gentleman that if Ahman Green had the OL the Cowboys had in the 90's that Green would have been better than Emmitt Smith. I kid you not.

I laughed. They eyed me funny. They smelled funny too. Like death.

Get a clue, did I say Packer fans loved him?

More INTS, more FF, same amount of tackles as the hallowed Roy Williams.

I am now convinced that you haven't watched a single Packers game this season.

Well, you've certainly given me a lot to consider in light of this.

Leigh Bodden has more tackles, same INTs, more FF, more passes defensed than Newman.

I guess Newman isn't that good either.

No, he's not. He got a few floaters thrown at him to make his interception stats look better. But he has been toasted in coverage and has a nasty habit of getting called for a lot of penalties. In the past eight games, he has been called for eight penalties for 120 yards -- including three pass interference penalties in the end zone, all giving the opponent the ball at the 1 (with all three ending up being touchdowns).

Imagine if Keith Davis somehow got four interceptions last season (say, two floaters, a tipped ball and one decent play), when he was absolutely abysmal in coverage. Would you think he was worthy of going to the Pro Bowl? That's Bigby. Like Idgit said, Packers fans want him benched. They're already expecting Aaron Rouse and Nick Collins to be their starting safeties next season.

If Bigby is so bad, then what is Roy Williams? The same Roy Williams who hasn't forced a fumble, has half as many interceptions and fewer passes defended?

Allright then, Ill just take away the interceptions that were thrown directly at Roy in garbage time of the Dolphins and Bears game and call it even. Bigby still has more interceptions.
