Active QBs with Super Bowl rings

3 of those guys may not be in the NFL in any capacity in a few years.
And then Stafford could call it quits relatively soon too.

That is a pretty crazy list. Doesn't seem possible. It really shows how insane Brady was. He single handedly skewed this chart.

No cowboys on that list in decades and for decades to come.

Not to defend Dak, but the argument about a QB not being able to win the big one is a flawed argument.

Looking back since the last time Dallas won, there have been two QBs who've dominated the league - Brady (7) and Mahomes (3 and counting). Their accomplishments are historical.

The only other guys with two rings are - Peyton, Eli and Big Ben (and Elway if we go way back, but still after Dallas has last won). And of those guys, Eli and Big Ben were never really regarded as elite QBs through their career. They'd likely be hated if they were on Dallas.

Then you have guys who have won one title:
  • Elite - Rodgers, Brees, Warner, Favre.
  • Solid to great - Stafford, Wilson.
  • Journeyman to average - Foles, Flacco, Brad Johnson, Dilfer.
An elite QB and a journeyman are equally likely to win (4 to 4).

There are very few guys ever who are elite and can will their team to 3+ Super Bowls (Brady, Montana, Mahomes). Even historically great players winning one championship is uncommon (Peyton, Rodgers, Brees, Favre).

So what have any elite active players besides Mahomes done?
  • Lamar
  • Burrow (made a Super Bowl)
  • Allen
  • Herbert
  • Hurts (made a Super Bowl)
  • Stroud
  • Love
  • Trevor Lawrence
  • Purdy (made a Super Bowl)
  • Tua
Of these QBs, the only one that people really consider a "winner" is Burrow, and that's because he had to beat Mahomes to make the Super Bowl. People don't give Hurts or Purdy the same credit despite also having made a Super Bowl. So Mahomes is so dominant, that simply beating him is a great resume booster.

Stafford just redid his contract to push all guarantees to this year only. Some think it’s foreshadowing a February announcement

Lions QB Jared Goff (made a Super Bowl with Rams 2018) is very underrated (flys under the radar).
He could very well be representing the NFC in next year's Super Bowl and currently be the best quarterback in the NFC right now!

Unless Rodgers comes all the way back Mahones pretty much stands alone at the top. I do not think there was such a wide gap that I can remember.

I think he has improved a lot since that SB. That's why he's underrated.

Yeah. When all of the elites retired, they haven't been replaced. Burrow, Herbert, Allen, Lawrence, and whoever else, they're not replacing them. At least not yet.
