As we prepare for the return of Adam Jones, there are a few things that he needs to avoid if he wishes to continue his career in the NFL.

  1. Do not go to any strip clubs and get into any physical altercations with any club hoppers, strippers, body guards, or bouncers.
  2. Do not shoot or threaten to shoot anyone at a strip club during NBA All Star weekend.
  3. Do not drink any alcohol and get into physical altercations with your body guard in a hotel room.
  4. Do not shoot yourself in the thigh with a firearm.
  5. Do not engage in any lewd sexual misconduct acts with female strippers on a boat.
  6. Do not get arrested for conspiracy to distribute and traffic cocaine.
  7. Do not engage in illegal dog fighting and gambling activities.
  8. Do not get shot on the way to a church service at 3AM in the morning.
  9. Do not attempt to steal your own awards, trophies, and sports memorabilia at gun point from a casino hotel.
  10. Do not kill your ex-wife/girlfriend and her new boyfriend with multiple stab wounds to the chest and neck area.
Follow these simple guidelines, and you should be ok!

.....and for goodness sakes, if you do get cut, don't steal the luggage of the player that replaces you!

I said when Adam Jones first came here that it's always easy at first to straighten your act up, because everybody is watching you and it's right on the tip of your mind. The problem comes 2-3 months down the road when all the pressure has calmed down and you have some freedom and money.

Hobbies bro, you need some hobbies. His hobbies to this point have apparently been party and always react instead of thinking. The only way to change is to really want to and find something to occupy your time that is harmless and fun. He's got football at this point, so it shouldn't be that hard to wrap yourself into that.

I hope he gets it together for himself. It sure would be tough to think that if you would have just been smart you could be set for life, but instead you're sitting on the brink of being banned from the sport that pays you and you supposedly love.

I agree, he needs to find something to do to occupy his free time which doesn't involve activities that could get him arrested. I think it is also a part of the teammate's responsibility to make sure that he has something productive to do so that he have to come up with stuff on his own. He has already proven that when on his own, he does not make good decisions.

Me too man but we have come this far with him.

I didn't want him from the get go but we are knee deep in Pacman DO DO so we might as well hope for nothing but the best at this point.

What's the downside to him being here?

Adam Jones "To Do List"

1. Think before you act

That's it. It's very simple for most adults, but for some, it's harder than staring down the muzzle of a loaded gun.

Until he can prove otherwise I have no faith, at all, that he can even avoid half the things on that list, let alone all of them.

Adam Jones needs to come back to work and contribute, hell at least on ST, then after work just stay at home every night and read a book... every night... just read. If he has trouble with reading... hire someone who will read the books to him... no trouble caused and no bodyguards needed.

He would probably end up slugging the reader. He needs audio books. :D

Emberassing the franchise, and causing a headache within the organization.

Taking the focus away from football.

Stuff that is not a big deal to the fans but a big enough deal for 31 other teams to take a pass.

Apparently you CAN do this one in the NFL - Roger Goodell will let that one slide.
