Here is some more interesting tidbits regarding the comments Parcells made about Henson. The Answer saw this story on NFL Total Access earlier as well and heard Schefter make a comment that Henson was 'on the bubble' and might not even make it through camp.

This is definitely an issue that Hensonites and haters alike should be keeping a close eye on in the coming weeks.....

NOT HIGH ON HENSON

Those who continue to wait for Dallas quarterback Drew Henson to blossom could be waiting a long time.

Though Henson received the playing time he needed this spring in the NFL Europe League with the Rhein Fire, Cowboys coach Bill Parcells did not come away impressed with the skills his quarterback demonstrated.

Asked about Henson's development, Parcells said, in the blunt way that only he can, "I was hoping for a little bit more, to tell you the truth."

With cuts about three months away, it's not too early to put Henson on the bubble.

This is all pretty much "Yesterday's News".

Was it an indication that Parcells is not happy with Henson or was it a motivational ploy? Only the Tuna knows for sure.

Actually this was just posted on nfl.com today and I saw the story on total access a little while ago when Schefter made these comments....

The Answer doesn't disagree that Parcells is a master of mind games, but this is definitely an issue to keep a close eye on as Henson is clearly on the spot and the pressure is only going to intensify as we get closer to the first preseason game. We are going to see what Henson is made of once and for all, but something tells me that even if he has a strong showing against other 3rd stringers it might not be enough to keep him around if Mroz has a better showing in camp.....

you're only stating the obvious here, we didn't need this report, or the report about Mroz to tell us that, Henson needs to start showing some real signs from July until the start of the season

Actually it's been on this forum for a couple of days so it truly is "yesterday's news." We're just slightly ahead of nfl.com on news related to the Cowboys. It's called being awake and passionate. Something you'd know nothing about. As usual you're a day late, a dollar short, and as boring watching the grass grow.

I have no doubt that Schefter was two days late and a dollar short with his post. My point is that he is posting something that has already been thoroughly discussed here on the board three days ago...ergo, Yesterday's News.

Not to mention that this all fits in very nicely with the anti-Henson agenda that you put forth at every opportunity.

Coming from a man who put the Cowboys fortune in the hands of Carter and Testeverde...Lets just say he's made some mistakes at QB before...So I don't really trust Parcells all that much when it comes to making all the right QB decisions.

what decision has Parcells made? and about Quincy, it was too late to find another QB, so he stuck w/ him, and Vinny wasn't expected to start, he just beat out Quincy, plus the drug problem, and really, what QBs have been out there?

I guess the obvious answer to that question is Delhomme was available 3 years ago but we got outbid by Carolina.

Delhomme would have been a nice start.

If Parcells really wanted him...Jones would have payed for him.

The Answer has no 'anti-henson agenda', what The Answer has an interest in is intelligent football debate with other hardcore fans. And when The Answer observes multiple outlets bringing this information to the forefront he's going to have a keen interest in it.

The Answer is curious.....why is it that when a factual piece of information that says something negative about Henson is posted it's immediately dismissed and the personal attacks flow like wine? Are some fans that blinded by reality they refuse to concede that the kid just isn't going to make it? Will some fans ever be able to accept the fact we have a 'franchise' qb already leading this team and stop worrying about 'the future' when we have a team built to win in 'the present'?

We spent a 3rd rounder on this kid to be the future of this franchise....not to be a 3rd stringer playing in the 'developmental' league at 26 years old mired in uncertainty. And what if he simply isn't a 'Parcells type of guy' to begin with?.....You really think he has a future with this team beyond this summer if that's the case?

The bottom line is we have to accept the possibility that the Henson experiment might have ran its course and there's nothing as fans we can do to change the outcome.....

I can't really blame Parcells for that, noone knew what was going to happen with Delhomme, but that only Parcells and Fox spoke to the guys says alot

but think about it, noone knew who Delhomme was, yet BP still decided to bring him in, so he obviously saw something in him, not as much as Fox did, but still

I think BP knows more about QBs than we give him credit for

Nobody expected Delhomme to have the type of production he has in Carolina. He was simply another prospect brought in to compete for a spot on the roster.

In fact he was merely in the right place at the right time in 2003 when Rodney Peete struggled and was pulled in the season opener.

Totally Disagree.

Well Cowboys fans sure should have known him...He looked pretty good in beating us when he was in New Orleans.

I guess I'll never convince you otherwise, but look at some of the QBs who have had great success under BIll:

VInny had a career year in '98 under BIll, w/ the Jets, went to the AFC Championship game
Simms won a Super Bowl
Jeff Hostetler won a Super Bowl
Bledsoe went to a Super Bowl and attempted the most passes in NFL history, in a single season

and it may be a stretch, but him and Fox were the only ones who brought in Delhomme

heh, he even passed on Aaron Rodgers twice lol
