09:51 AM ET 03.03 | NFL analyst Adam Schefter recently joined the Fitzsimmons & Durrett show on KESN-FM 103.3 ESPN Radio. Here are some highlights: On if the Cowboys will consider trading Tony Romo: "Before we trade him, let's say the compensation for Tony Romo is two 1's. I don't think it's that. Maybe it's a 1 and a 3. Robert Griffin III went for basically three 1's and a 2, and I remember having to debate with teams when the Rams were shopping that pick. Well, if you're going to take three 1's and a 2 for an unproven rookie before RGIII proved what he did, wouldn't you rather trade that for someone like Tony Romo? The Cowboys may be interested in doing something like that. Carson Palmer went for a 1 and a 2 that could be a 1. Tony Romo is worth at least that. Let's just say the market is two 1's, who is playing quarterback for the Cowboys? Good luck with that one."

We been debating this offseason if Romo Could be or should be traded.. Doesn't sound like he has any inside info. But 2 #1's.. I'm sold..

How do you get from this that he reads the Zone? A trade is a possibility for almost every player in the league. But yes, for two 1's, I'd say go for it. No team would give up two 1's though when he could opt for free agency the very next year. That could ruin the team he goes to.

I agree with SD. I don't think he reads this forum but he is just speculating like all of us. I love tony but if you can get 2 1's for him idk how you wouldn't take that

I don't think there's one player on this team that I'd opt to keep over two 1's.

2 #1's sounds good, but then who's your QB? Don't say Orton. Not all that crazy about any of the QB's in the draft either.

Al Davis is dead. Two firsts is not happening. A 1st and a 3rd, anyone?

Yes, I read CZ. I'm also drowning in women and benjamins at NFLN, but Eisen has some fierce game.

I'd consider it only if we were actually going to draft a QB in the 1st and start him immediately.

Depending on the team, I'd have to strongly consider two 1sts for Romo at this stage of his career. Use one and your own 1st on OL/DL, pocket the second first for next season (obviously), and roll with Orton for a season. Orton's good enough to get a talented team to the playoffs. In 2014, you've got ammunition to move up and take one of the top two guys at the position to address the position long-term, even if you had to throw in a future pick to get it done. With a strong defense and a strong OL, Dez, Murray, and Austin, you'd have the tools for a young guy to develop. You'd have the cap room to help the guy out in FA, too.

I'd hate to see Tony go--hate it--but for the right price, it could kickstart the roster-reboot you're otherwise looking at when Tony/Ware/Witten ride off into the sunset.

Orton was good enough to go 1-4 with a Denver team that Tim Tebow went 7-4 with just a little over a year ago. So I might tap the brakes on that part of your statement.

Yes. We're the only ones talking about possibly trading Romo and everybody reads us.

It is starting to seem like maybe Romo doesn't want to resign but I just don't think he can be traded fairly. While teams would probably be tripping over themselves to get to the phones if he was a UFA, I can't see one giving up major picks when he has one year left and then can bail.

Depends what the first is. The #1 overall. I'd take it. Anything lower then the 4th pick is not worth the trade.

If we get 2 #1 round picks for Romo i would play Orton for 1 year and live with the possibility of a bad season. Of course one of those pick must be a very high one. If both picks are lower then #10 i'd pass.

When these guys start throwing around #1 picks they really do need to clarify how high that pick is...it makes a huge difference.

The 3rd pick, for example, is worth about three times as much as the 24 or 25. Really, if if someone is picking at the end of the 1st round--and always seems to be picking there--then they could give up 2 or 3 1st rounders and it'd be like a team like jacksonville giving up just one.

It also depends on the draft.. Last years 1-5 picks are worth alot more than this year.. No Luck or RG3..

These silly fantasy trades never make any sense. If you are in win now mode, why would you suddenly change your mind just because someone offers you a couple of draft picks (however high) for your quarterback? If you are willing to go into rebuilding mode on the whim of another team, then you should already be in that mode and actively shopping Romo.
