He lives in Wisconsin where his wife (current) is from. There may be some family in the Pittsburgh area. He hasn’t lived there in over 30 years. “stay close with his family” is a made up benefit. I’ll bet he’s already close to his adult children and step children who are likely all over the United Stares by now.

Who cares if it is a made-up benefit? His family is from Pittsburgh and McCarthy is from Pittsburgh

You never know. If Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers can agree to work together, it might just work in Pittsburgh since they know each other better than anyone else. They just might need each other to rekindle that old SB fire of 14 years ago.

Cignetti is 63. Can’t see the Steelers, who usually hire young up and comers, hiring a coach that old. If I’m the Steelers I’m hiring Flores or Scheelhaase.

It all depends. Mike was gifted a QB at the 2 stops he had...so hard to see he developed guys like he claims about Montana. That said, Dak and others have given him tons of credit for grooming them as QBs. That is to say nothing of his ability to identify and draft a top talent.

The other x-factor is fit. Mike "fits" Pittsburgh way more than Dallas. Much like Jimmy "fit" in Dallas.

I think Mike is a good coach.

That said this doesn’t fit the Steelers typical M.O.

Usually they hire young coaches that will be there for decades. That’s not McCarthy.

Let me guess , he told them he watched all plays from his couch last season while eating wings and donuts . He will probably coach for any salary they pay . New Orleans passed on him last season. I hope they hire him and drown wirh him , but I think the Rooney family is just giving him an interview as he is a Steelers fan and his agent showed them how cheap he will coach for LOL
