They had nine 3rd and 7 or longer and converted 6 of them. Mariota's QB Rating last night was 119.9. How about that Cowboy defense.

Can we stop with the greatly improved defense talk? This defense may be slightly better than last year, but not by much. We need more bulk up front. What happened to our starting corners. All night they allowed 3rd down conversions. Our Defensive coaches were out coached in this game. All around crappy defensive effort!

Not defending the defense but I counted at least 3 blatant holds on those 3rd down conversions, with none getting called all night.

Well,that’s been an ongoing issue here for a long time. Giving up 3rd and longs. They were finished after that 15 play drive...they’re just gassing out,and pretty soon they will give in as defenses do in these circumstances with the way things are in Dallas right now. They can play well in short spurts provided the offense can do some things,but not like this. We’ve basically got the perfect storm on our hands. Lots of injuries,an unstable staff and team,and a 3-5 record coming into the meat of the schedule off another humiliating loss on national TV.

It’s a good defense that had a bad game. The team was mentally totally unprepared coming off a bye. Pathetic.

First, I didn't see the game and haven't watched the replay yet. Secondly, I have seen all the other games and I have thought that the Cowboys defense has improved every year under Marinelli. What typically happens to this defense is they spend too much time on the field due to an inept offense led by a shoddy QB. They (the Defense) are not good enough to continually stop teams in key situations, but they do manage to make plays sometimes. The problem is when they do get a stop, the offense, again led by a horrible QB, can't take advantage of it and put a drive together resulting in TD's.

Yep, Garrett’s strong point if you will, was having the team believe in him and having them prepared mentally.
He failed miserably in getting this team ready coming off of a bye to play, let’s face it, a crappy team. IMO, if Garrett can’t continue to get the team mentally prepared to “fight”, he is literally worthless as a head coach and brings nothing to the table.
