I was one of the posters who was a vocal proponent of trading up to get Adrian Peterson. It is easy for me to stand here and crow a little today after he "went off" yesterday and racked up significant yardage.

Here is the real reason I am throwing this topic out for conversation again. Does anyone here, besides me believe that if Adrian Peterson were running behind this huge line that our team is SIGNIFICANTLY better with Peterson. I think we would have beat the Patriots and be Superbowl favorites today.

Also, I realize Jones had a couple of long runs yesterday, but does anyone else here besides me think Julius Jones is a bust and that our slow starts and strong finishes have to do with our RB rotation?

It could very well possibly be that we have an ex QB as our OC and he likes to pass pass pass pass pass.

Plus, this "huge" o-line hasn't run-blocked as well as alot of people like to think.

Our team would have been on the field much longer, and kept the ball out of the Patriots hands. I believe it would have helped a lot.

I loved Peterson as well but I don't think Dallas would have been able to move up to get him without it costing us a lot in return.

Adrian Peterson is a freakin' beast... if we had him the backfield, we would be straight sick, and our offense would be the talk of the town... play-action would make way more effective, they would have to bring another man in the box, and Witten would average like 6 catches a game...

I believe there is no way in the world the Patriots would have stopped us...

When everyone was sweating all over another overrated WR like Calvin Johnson, I was praying we would trade up for Peterson. I believe AD running behind this OL could break the 2,000 yard barrier. He might be the NFL's leading rusher this year as a rookie, and the Vikings are never playing with big enough leads in the 4th quarter to really allow him to pad stats. I don't care if it's McFadden or Slaton or whoever ... I want a RB who can take a 5 yard gain caliber hole and take it 60.

I had no idea Adrian was that big... He looks impressive on the field just physically, and he makes these freakin' ridiculous lateral cuts... I'm like, you have got to be kidding me... This guy looks like a horse when he runs...

I would doubt that the Vikings offensive line is blocking better than ours is and he seems to be doing pretty well for the Vikes!

That change of direction he made laterally on the second run of those highlight reels... absolutely, disgustingly sick...

We'll find out this weekend....if their o-line isn't getting pushed backwards, then I'd say that they are doing better. ;)

other than yesterday for some plays, and a handful of plays in the 4th qtr of a few other wins, the run blocking has been poor

so no, he wouldnt have made any difference...we'd be 5-1 right now

they saw Peterson break off some long runs the other day, so they are creaming their pants

if McFadden does that to LSU in a few weeks, you'll see another story emerge

You mean, other than the fact that heading into this week MB3 was leading the NFL in yards per carry for backs with over 50 carries on the season.

So I guess MB3 is the second coming of Gale Sayers or Barry Sanders, since he was making all of that happen on his own.

Is this an either or situation where you can only like McFadden or Peterson? Personally, I'd gladly take either one.

I think Dallas has a decent running game but I do think it can be better with a top caliber RB. OL is important but great backs can make a line look better than they are. Vikes did not do much in the running game last year, they were decent but nothig spectacular. You add a great back and that line looks better than they are. Even in Dallas as good as our line was no other back was doing jack and the running game sucked when Emmitt was out of the lineup. Give credit to the line but great backs make a differance.
