I live in DC and was listening to a local radio station hosted by former Commander great Lavar Arrington. He was saying that he wants Washington to try to bring in either Wilson from Arizona or Harrison from Pittsburgh.

There is a reason why he's on radio, and not in football.

He's a 33 yr old SS and he was benched for coverage problems.

Spot on but like urlacher, Jerry likes these risky signings

When?

Not saying he does or doesn't really but for the life of me I cannot think of a time in the recent past Jerry has signed a 30+ year old like an Urlacher or Wilson to anything but a minimal contract? I suppose you could go back to Marco Rivera but that was what almost a decade ago. Sure he has taken chances on younger players (Hamlin, Davis, etc.) but I fail to see how one equates to the other.

He already plays like a LB. I meant speed-wise, he could keep up.

He may play like a linebacker but he is too small to take on blocks from 240 LBS FB and 300+ lineman every play as a linebacker. There have been very few if any Safeties that played LB at a high level, the only one that comes to mind is Bengal Safety that became a decent linebacker, he played with Boomers SB team. LB is position that takes a lot of punishment on every play even if they are away from the ball carrier.

Adrian Wilson is 6-3, 230.

Here are some LBs from Chicago's 2012 Kiffin style defense:

Starting SLB:
Nick Roach 6'1 234

Backups:
Blake Costanzo 6'1 235
Dom DeCicco 6'4 230
J.T. Thomas 6'1 236
Geno Hayes 6'1 226

He'll probably end up in New England and play well, they're great at finding guys that everyone presumes is 'over the hill' and gets them to play great for very reasonable contracts.

Bingo, I really think he could do it. Besides, he'd play SLB where his lack of speed would be masked.

Learning a new position at age 33 isn't the easiest thing to do.

I'm in favor if it's a cheap, incentive-rich contract, but getting over the hill veterans rarely works, or do I need to remind anyone of the Skins/Iggies doing this the past ten years?

I'd rather build a legacy vs. a flash in the pan team.

Not to mention the fact that I'm sure Wilson has been fighting off the pounds to save his career as S and maintain some speed. Obviously didn't work, but I don't think it would be too hard for him to bulk up a little more and add at least 5 lbs if he's playing LB. He's got a tall frame at 6'3 to do it.

So at his age and stage in his career he's going to try to extend his career by...moving to a position that's much more physically punishing, e.g. a lot more tackling, getting knocked around by tackles, shadowing TE's, etc., not to mention he has zero experience at the spot? Makes sense to me...

Playing safety, where you keep everything in front of you and only having to worry about shedding blocks from "smaller" players is different than. Playing LB where you are int he middle of the field and your first responsibility is the run adn taking on blocks from the biggest players on the the field. When I say he is small its not his measurables its his build. There is no way his body can take on trap blocks and pulling lineman.
