I see a lot of fear in the various game threads about facing decent QBs in the playoffs. There seems to be a lot of concern out there about facing a Rodgers, Ryan, Stafford, Cousins again or even Brees. Some of these teams are hovering around .500, but because they have good QBs, we are supposed to be afraid of them carving up our defense. How much of a threat do these kind of teams really pose?

Fair question, they pose a threat as they can put points on the board and expose a lack of a pass rush. Bottom line its hard to win a super bowl without a quality QB, so one would think teams with QBs stand a chance. However, none of these teams have great defenses so regardless the Cowboys should be able to move the ball. If you took the Vikings defense and paired that with the Falcons offense now that would be a threatening team.

Out of everyone in the NFC, the Seahawks will be the toughest matchup however no longer having Marshawn Lynch prevents them from controlling the ball like they have in the past. Really no team is complete in the NFC. I thought it would be the cardinals or panthers, but they havent played to potential..

I think a huge x factor in that is the health of Mo Claiborne. If he can come back and pick up where he left off our secondary looks a whole lot better than what it has been the past few weeks. It was a real strength to start the season.

Teams had better fear the Cowboys. Time to stop with who have they beaten. They've beaten the Steelers team who beat NYG today, Baltimore who's defense is supposed to be so great, Minnesota's vaunted D on the road, Packers at Lambeau, etc. Yeah, the defense needs to make more plays (turnovers, sacks, etc.), but they have proven that the bend but don't break is a winning formula against any opponent. If we play up to our potential, the sky is the limit.

People fear the Commanders receiving core. They have 2 top ten tight ends, crowder is there Beasley, desean is there deep threat and garcon can do it all. That's a crazy arsenal, there pass protection is great too

Every team in the NFC that has a good QB doesn't have a good defense. Seattle is inconsistent on offense and we can wear them down in our running game.

I personally don't think they fear anyone. They know that they can protect the ball, that their line can give Dak time, and that they can hold guys out of the end zone. The swag is here, I suggest the fans get the fear out of their hearts.

Excluding Cousins they worry me more than Seattle does.

Facing a good QB without a consistent pass rush is a concern. Even an average QB can have a pretty good day if you give them time to throw. Our 12-4 2014 team lost to Colt McCoy and Mark Sanchez.

19 points a game. 5th in the NFL. Terrifying!!!!!!
Other than last week, you can largely thank our offense for that. Don't get me wrong, they are playing better than the sum of their parts, but this is not a good defense. At all.

Yet they lose every other game. I'm not saying it's easy to beat any NFL team, but fearing these mediocre clubs is getting out of hand. Respect your opponent. Prepare for your opponent. But don't fear these clubs that can't get out of their own way. If the Cowboys play up to their capabilities, they will beat these "feared" teams.

I understand what you say, and I agree. However part of me just still does not completely trust out defense.
I guess it is from all the past years of all the 4th quarter and OT disasters and let downs. I am still getting use the the D so far this year. Yes they made stops, and the bend but don't break theory. And it has worked.
But I am still a bit apprehensive.

It worries me too, but that stretch where Mo, Church, Brown, Jones and even Carr were all balling before injuries set in gives me hope. Guys like Collins, Irving, Hitchens and Lawrence seem to be coming around too. I would feel better if we start coming up with turnovers. Hitchens' interception could have been the catalyst for that, but we know how that turned out. We had 3 sacks though so maybe things will start looking up.
