After 127 starts, Romo/Prescott by the numbers

And impressive considering neither has ever had a defense lol
Dak has had consistently better defenses than Romo. I posted a the team rankings by year a while ago in one of the older threads.

Romo's best defense was the 2009 season where it was the 2nd ranked defense in the league by one of the more well known statistical ranking sites. Unfortunately, his offensive line was woeful that year, especially against Minnesota in the playoffs.

Otherwise, his defenses have mostly been the latter half of the league for the majority of his career.

This guy thinks Romo and Dak played in the same era…

Nice.

First game starting dates a full decade apart, but there WAS overlap

10 years a big boost for QB stats. Has been for 4 decades now
Properly time-adjusted stats for Romo are far better....just as Staubach's are far better than Romo's

But the team results stuff is very interesting. Kind of amazing, really

Clearly romo was better

“The same QB” is a lazy analysis when you factor in era, eye test, and the teams they had around them
And yet, he has 2 measly wild card wins to his career. Same as Dak. That is all that matters. The rest is semantics. No one cares about your situations and teams around you when you judge overall careers. Their careers are about as identical as can be.

Legacies are cemented in the playoffs. Where was Romo's clearly better moments than Dak in the playoffs? I'll wait....Each of them had 2 wins against inferior opponents; Romo's was Eagles, Lions. Dak's was Seattle and Tampa. Any time they faced better teams, all losses. Both fumbled #1 seeds at home.

This isn’t true

There have been a handful of seasons, not many, but some for sure, where the defense was good enough. Sometimes even better than good enough.

Lmao, are you well?

Romo started his career almost 20 years ago. Dak was 13 years old when Romo started his first game.

You guys dont think when you post
No, I do get the point you are making. Dak is playing in a different era now than Romo did early in his career. I get it.

But the game has basically favored the offense for several decades now. It's not like Romo was around in the 1990s when success was based on having a 1000 yard rusher and 3000 passing yards was considered an acheivement.

Eerily similar. Wow.

The thing is you like one not the other, the other poster likes the other....neither have facts that show one is better... so why would "Your observation" be better than "His observation" when facts "Stats the record of what happened" dont back up either? you can scream to the mountain top "My guy was better because i say so" and it still holds no meaning.
Women lie. WillieBeamen lies. But numbers do not.

It takes a team.

Eli Manning was a turnover prone dumpster fire most of his career and Tony Romo was infinitely better than Eli. I will take this statement to my grave.

But Eli has two rings because he had a defense carry him twice. When could Romo or Dak ever say they had that support?

Bro, Dak plays in a league right now where you start with the ball on the 40 yard line if the K kicks it too short into the landing zone.

Romo’s entire career, a touchback started on the 20.

Regardless of the “era discussion”, Romo played under what many would call the “worst coach in cowboys history” Jason Garrett. Why isnt that considered in these comparisons?

I know why….

That rule started when, last year?

But I agree with you about Romo, he was the reason all those 8-8 teams under Garrett weren't 3-13. Romo had better teams under Parcells and Phillips but that was early in his career when he was still developing.
