After a few hours of trying to either laugh this off or agree with destiny, here are some thoughts...

1) Give me a couple more Dez Bryant's, and we are the best team in football...

2) This game cost Red the team...how could any of his players believe he can lead them anywhere?

3) I never thought our defense could be worse without Ryan as our DC. It's pathetically the worst in the NFL. Marinelli and The other old guy are proving the game has passed them up!!!

4) We have ZERO RB's who are worthy of a roster spot!!

5) How many years in a row is this without a quality Safety?? Woodson was our last decent one..it's costing us 150 yards a game!!!

6) Any luck JJ jumped out of his jet on the way home... That's the only way we're getting better!!! If not, any way he had a USC athletic director type meeting with Red at the airport???

Even USC doesn't want this joke of a coach we have.

1. Agree-passion wise
2. Maybe, it sure didn't help
3. Marinelli is the only guy keeping this defense viable
4. we have plenty, just none that can stay healthy
5. Safety should be next years first pick if it isn't a def lineman
6. nothing changes, the redball express stays on course

What's the definition of viable? Perhaps we can give up 450 yards passing per game??? All he's done is teach big guys to get off the ball and other guys to strip the ball!!

Harsh words.

I think some of this comes from pure emotion.

And that's fine- we are emotional creatures, but...

Marinelli is the best and never let that escape you.

THE BEST.

The rest of the team?

Have at it, right now.

Many of them deserve it.

Again are we any better than we were last year defensively? This coming from a Ryan hater... But these guys are making Ryan look like a HOF DC

Viable = keeps them in the game to have a chance to win
example 1: holding Detroit to 7 through three quarters while our offense could not put it away
example 2: many more takeaways
example 3: playing well above their heads with an injury-ridden team
example 4: if Marinelli did not work his magic on that line, this team might have two wins at most

Say all you want about the defense, but they are burdened with too much due to an inept offense. If we had a more explosive and creative offense, this team would be 6-2, at worst, at this point.

The root of the problem is the offensive scheme which trickles down the line. If I am the HC and I know my defense sucks, you can bet I would open up the offense to balance out that weakness.

I repeat, I know the defense gives up way too many yards and quick scores but they do not get much help from the offense.

No, but supposedly he had a one on one meeting with Witten (according to NFL Network). Anyone want to speculate how that went?

When you have been torched and terrorized by a receiver for 300 yards, one would think one would not continue to press ones luck with ones own defense. The yards given up matter little when a team is +4 in turnover differential. If they cannot win a game under those circumstances, they won't win many under any circumstances.

They got lots of help in the 4th quarter. They folded vs KC in the end, against Denver all game, against SD in the entire second half and in the 4th quarter today.

They stink

They got lots of help after they played their guts out for three quarters. They gave up a measly 17 to KC and they sucked against Denver. I am not denying that they have folded, but they need help from the offense, not just at the end of the game or last quarter.

I know they are bad, you know that, everyone knows that. Only one way to cure that.......score more points. The offense needs to wake up at kickoff, not entering the 4th qtr.

True but regardless an NFL team can't blow leads of 10, 10 and 6 in ten minutes and give up 24 points and 260 yards in ONE Quarter.

Denver and San Diego, the defense laid a stinker. This one, it's not the D's fault. The d can only hold so long. They held the lions to 7 points going into the third quarter and gave us 4 turnovers. We kept complaining about how we need a D that gets us turnovers, but we've found out turnovers don't matter if you don't CONVERT them into points. We should have had the game out of reach going into the fourth quarter. The problem is, and everyone can see it, is Garrett plays so he won't lose his job. He plays so that the blame can be shifted on someone else. As soon as we get any kind of lead going into the fourth, he hits the break and starts playing it super safe and keeps putting it on the defense. It happens all the time. There has been several situations where the defense 3 and outs the opposing offense and we get the ball back with a couple of minutes left and Garrett runs the ball 3 times in a row and we three and out and give the ball RIGHT BACK to the opposing offense. What do you think will end up happening more times than not, especially when the D is tired? And if their offense comes and scorches us, guess who gets the blame? That's right, the defense. We kept talking about how Rob Ryan's defense couldn't hold at the end of games, and he's with the Saints now. Do you see that as a problem? He got beat by Brady, but that's Tom Brady. Other than that, they haven't lost yet and no one is complaining about the defense over there because their offense plays to WIN the game. They keep the opposing offense off the field and let the defense rest up. They don't always put the defense in a position to make the 'last stop' at the end of games because they know how to put the game out of reach. If Marinelli and Kiffen went elsewhere, we'd quickly discover 'they weren't the problem', just like Rob Ryan isn't the problem in New Orleans. We've changed everything except a few pieces and we keep getting the same results.
