This defense should be better than this by now. Tom Brady had a career game against a team that has taken a pass rusher with their first pick pretty much every year for the past decade. Sure, Brady was sacked a few times, & hurried a few more, but nothing like I've seen some other teams harass him. With all of the 1st round picks on this defense, his WRs should have been blanketed, (Terrance Newman, Roy Williams), and the pressure should have been in his face nearly every play, (Greg Ellis, DeMarcus Ware, Marcus Spears, Anthony Spencer, Bobby Carpenter). With all of these so-called studs, and a new attack-style scheme, Brady still marched up & down the field like he was playing the Browns, (Who, by the way, played them much tougher than Dallas did).

Seems like the best players on defense tonight were the guys taken later in the draft, like Hatcher & Jones. I guess I'm just tired of these high picks not coming through against the better teams. Time to draft some players with killer instincts.

They abused us with the 3rd receiver and the rest was a result of killing us with Welker.

I saw them with Ellis on Welker for goodness sake. And nate was abused by this kid. The Pats won in the offseason when they went out and got 2 of the biggest names out there, including 3 receivers. They didn't whine and complain about a players off the field issues like a lot of us like to do around here, they man'd up, and went after TALENT.

This should be a wake up call to Jones. Don't go after the 3rd best safety when the BEST safety is out there. Go after a STAR corner, don't get the 2nd best. Same with receivers, etc, etc.

If you haven't noticed, the fact that a player is picked high doesn't mean he's a good player. Spears and Burnett are JAGs. Carpenter can't play. That's not Wade's fault.

And the offense may not have gotten a lot of high picks, but they've gotten tons of FA money.

Agreed! BP missed on SEVERAL draft picks! Carpenter, Spears, and all the o-line he drafted are complete bust. Fasano is a complete waste when you have Witten. We are better than before he got here but not nearly as good as we could be if he had drafted better!
