90% of this thread is nothing but people mocking with little to no counter-argument.

"Why are people afraid to the Giants?"

Simple: We lost to then twice and were dominated by their D. This isn't rocket science.

Also, they have only lost to Pitt and Philly recently. One is a quality team and the other is a rival (We had a stinker against them as well, and not just yesterday)

Giants are a better team. Good defense > Good offense

LOL

How good has NY been on the road this year?

How do teams tend to perform when playing in back to back road games? How about 3 consecutive road games? How about 4 consecutive?

Consider this- if NY plays Dallas in the divisional round, it will be their 4th consecutive game on the road. They are not winning.

Our defense is better then the Giants. Everybody keeps talking about how good the Giants defense is when Dallas is better and Dallas has the better offense as well.
Your first sentence is just plain ridiculous.
No its not. Dallas had the best defense in the league over the last month or so. More sacks and more turnovers then any team. It's ok though you can believe what you want

Right, I meant no disrespect to the Giants defense, they've been lights out. But I just feel our defense has been playing well also but hasn't gotten the press the Giants D has because none of our guys were big name FA's. I also agree that they will lose next weekend.
Yah, for all the hoopla their D gets, I think we've allowed something like 18 more points all season.

Giants pass defense is rated #2 in the NFL with a 75.8 Opposing QB rating.
Cowboys pass defense is rated #24 in the NFL with a 94.1 Opposing QB rating.

Giants are ranked #2 in overall scoring defense allowing 17.8 Points Per Game
Cowboys are ranked #5 is overall scoring defense allowing 19.1 Points Per Game

Giants are #2nd in the league in rush defense (yard allowed per carry) with 3.6 ypc
Cowboys are #11th in the league in rush defense (yards allowed per carry) with 3.9 ypc

I just don't see any way you can legitimately say the Cowboys defense is better without drinking major home koolaid.

JG wont change anything, he thinks it is all execution, so dont expect a bunch of new plays.

They don't need new stuff. There's a bunch of stuff we ran early in the year we've never gone back to. Stuff that worked like a charm, we used 1 time, maybe 2 then left it alone.

Here's 1 example:

We've run that play ONCE all season.

Good job only using stats that giants were "better" then Dallas..get it can do that too.

Dallas had the number 1 rush defense in the league....Giants was worst

Dallas had more tackles then the Giants

Dallas had more sacks then the Giants

Dallas forced more fumbles then the Giants and was only 2 interceptions short of tying the Giants.

This is fun let's do some more

And considering if Gregory can play in the playoffs, we get Lawrence back and Claiborne too. I'll take our fully healthy d over a Giants d without Pierre-Paul.

They went 4-4 on the road. .500, which isn't bad. Let's see how your theory holds up.

2007 Giants, 7 out of the 9 final Giants games were road games, 4 of which came in the playoffs. 2011 5 out of their last 8 games were road games, 3 of which came in a row during the playoffs.

Seems Giants do just fine on the road, especially Eli.

Also look how much the Giants spent on their defense and it's just ok. It's not elite

This....was a terrible counter. No one credible would agree that our D is better than the Giants. This is ridiculous. haha

The Giants allowed 5 more yards per game on the ground than Dallas did primarily because the Giants' pass defense was so darn good. Teams decided to take their chances on the ground.

Even then, the Cowboys allowed significantly more per rush than the Giants:
  • Giants are #2nd in the league in rush defense (yard allowed per carry) with 3.6 ypc
  • Cowboys are #11th in the league in rush defense (yards allowed per carry) with 3.9 ypc
Listen -- I am ecstatic about the Cowboys defense this season. I'm just don't need to convince myself the Cowboys defense is better than the Giants to feel better.

After a 4 game stretch with no turnovers, the Dallas defense managed 10 turnovers and 15 sacks in it's last 5 games.

Yes, really.

And if you eliminate the last game of the year in which we weren't really trying by playing backups for 3/4ths of the game, it's 10 turnovers and 13 sacks in 4 games.

They are not going to beat us in their 4th consecutive road game, while we're coming off of a bye week. Don't be ridiculous.

They could BARELY eek out regular season wins against us in conditions that favored them.

I'm honestly kind of surprised that so many folks are concerned about NY.

Think about this- they finished the season on consecutive road games. They will be on the road next week. If they somehow beat the Packers, they'll be headed to their FOURTH consecutive road game as they visit Dallas. Being on the road takes it's toll.

And on the flip side, they beat us in friggin week 1, before we even got our feet underneath ourselves. And when they beat us the 2nd time we were on consecutive road games and had to deal with Dak's first bad weather game in the NFL.

And we still almost beat them- BOTH TIMES.

you can also claim that they are a better team by the fact that despite having a huge turnover differential against them, we barely beat them... I have been watching us play all year..we are by no means a juggernaut . we can be beat bro. if anyone can, it's the giants. hear me out, they have great corners and they can bring their safetys close to the line all game long and in that way, stop zeke. if I was a def coordinator, I would force dak to beat me. the giants have the personnel to make dak look very average.
If we see them in the post season I'm confident we'll squash them.

Again, terrible way to judge a game. "Away" and "home" is this really how you're determining it?

You do that, I'll be over here looking at how mismatched we are and how it showed in the two games we lost against them.

I was going to post the following yesterday watching the Giants-Red Skin game, but decided to wait until this morning. The Cowboys will lose against a great defense and the Giants have one. If we stick with what we had in the two loses to the Giants the outcome will be the same. So, the Cowboys will have to do something different with what they have or . . . . go . . . . . with . . . . Romo! He can win the game with the Giants or Atlanta. This should be in the game plan for these playoff games!

“the Giants! Yes, I saw a great defense choke the life out of the Commanders. I hate to say it but Eli wins his third Super Bowl ring. Each time the Giants have won a Super Bowl they had the best DL in the NFL. This time they have a better defense. I would give the Cowboys runner up to the NFC but we would have to have a better defense than the Giants to win.”

The Giants are now the boogy man because they barley beat the sorry arse Skins:lmao2:

So, Cousins throws 2 late picks to DRC and suddenly the Giants defense is the '85 Bears!?!

With all the bickering in this thread by the OP, I find it hard to believe the guy is 67 years of age
as his profile page claims.
