I had a problem with it at the time and I STILL do. Leonard Davis is making 50M to play GUARD!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought we would cure it by moving him to RT and letting Colombo walk. But obviously we just exteneded Colombo...which is not necessarily a bad thing. But it makes it clear what the Cowboys THINK about the backup OL on this team. How can we have backup OL in our "program" this long and NONE OF THEM are ready for primetime. You cannot keep guys around that long that cannot play. Like Pat McQuistan....poop or get off the pot. We are stuck with Flo because McQuistan can't play.
And people will argue OL can play well into their 30s. That maybe true for intereior OL...but not LTs. The older they get the worse they get...especially late in the season. His body is NEVER going to hold up for 16 games and a LONG playoff run. He has had WAY to many injuries for his body to get BETTER as he gets older and as the season wears long.
And I have no idea how Gurode keeps making the Pro Bowl. He is not intelligent enough to play Center! I really hope we move him to guard and get someone that is more of a technician at Center. Someone who studies more. That has LONG been Gurodes problem....Parcells commented he needed to study more.
This OL will NEVER allow this offense to reach it's potential when playing GOOD teams. We can have all the weapons in the world....but when your QB has zero confidence that he is going to be clean you will see the kinds of bonehead plays we see out of Romo
How many times do we have to see Leonard Davis blocking someone that is ALREADY being blocked by someone else. 50M? Wow, just wow!
And for this coaching staff to keep telling us Procter grades out well or played well. As if we do NOT have eyes. But I tell you who does NOT think Procter can play. The opposition. Their eyes light up and they scheme ways to get their guy on Procter.
A good OL can control the ENTIRE game. Parcells never won here becaue he NEVER got the line right. Last year I thought we got it right...but it was more Romo avoiding stuff. But Romo has not done as much of that this year....and he finally got injured becaue of this OL.
And to think we brought Houck back to take this OL to the next level. They look as bad as they have looked in years. Problem is...we are so heavily invested cap wise that we have to live with them for years to come.
