Anyone here planning on playing this?

My old WoW guild will be forming up in AoC.
We'll have about 100 people at launch and looking to go to maybe 300 for server domination. The game has a lot of cool features such as guild owned cities and battle keeps.

The game will offer pvp and pve content. We'll have guild groups for both aspects.

If you want to run with us let me know and I'll get you in the email chain.

Most of us have already pre-ordered.

I have been in the Conan beta for the past few months. When the servers are available it is an excellent game. Much different than WoW though. That's a good thing btw. It is more of an adult theme game. I don't suggest the little ones playing it.

The game I am so looking forward to is Warhammer 40k. I think that will be the big dog on the market once it launches. Conan will still be right there. Both games look to be big hitters. Blizzard should probably start worrying. They have been adjusting for these launches lately however. The consistent new content updates the past few months help.

Thing w/ WoW right now is that it is so repetative. People are getting tired of the level grind. Something has to be done to get away from that old school way of what level you are.

Skill systems work better. The old SWG skill system was awesome until they went and ruined it.

Warhammer 40k will be skill based to a degree. Check it out JT. I think you will like the reviews so far.

JT - I'll probably be up for trying this game although I doubt I'll play at launch since May-June-July is really busy for me at work. But please get with me on the info you have.

Dallas - What kind of system resources does this game take? I'm got a pretty good computer but it's a few years old on some components.

I have a pretty big system atm for gaming. Conan full out isn't much of a problem. Funcom finally came out w/ the latest system requirments for this game last week. Here they are.

Required
OS: Windows Vista/XP
Processor: 3GHz Pentium IV
RAM: 1GB RAM
Video Card: Shader Model 2.0 and 128MB RAM: NVIDIA GeForce 5800 or ATI 9800

Recommended
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz (E6600) or better
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7950GX2 or better
RAM: 2GB or more

Enhanced for: DirectX 10, 64-bit processors, multi-core
Supports Parental Controls on Windows Vista

I suggest nothing less than 2GB of RAM memory. I am running 2gig atm, but will be stepping up to 4GB in the next month. One of the reasons I am doing this is mainly for WoW. I run sooo many mods that things are slowing down for me during raids. I hate seeing the choppy screen and praying I don't DC in the middle of the fight.:

Its nice having some MMO folks on the board. I play so many, its refreshing to get some other views on them.

Like right now I am bored and am looking for something other than WoW to play. I was playing EvE for a couple of weeks. Very fun in the beginning but takes SOOOOOOOOOO long to get a character to the point where its actually safe for them to go to higher security areas to mine or run missions. Very fun game though.

One last thing. Funcom is now accepting more Beta Testers. If you want to try out Age of Conan, then I suggest heading over to Funcom and getting a Beta key. You won't be sorry.

Big download tho. I think the client atm is like 8-10GB

Guess we know who won the Georgia lotto. :laugh2:

Anyway back on topic. I'm guessing the XBOX 360 version won't share the same community as the PC version.

Sounds fun. Honestly, had my head so far in WoW that I hadn't looked at new games coming out.

When is the release? I'll may be interested but not until I upgrade the system in July. Although, the new WoW XPac will come out soon also.

and as for jksmith...wow, just wow. Very jealous.

I am playing on LightningHoof - Alliance (rarely - anymore) and my current main is on Lightbringer (Non-PvP). I know I know its a blue server. I moved him from my old PvP server Chromaggus to play w/ my cousin. Now I am stuck. I can't go back. =(

He is like 69 atm. Pushing to 70. Feral build and very fun to play. Druids are just an insane class.

Alienware?? SICK!! Gratz on that purchase. Dell took over Alienware and pretty much left them alone. Good for them. Alienware puts out some amazing builds.

Please let me know how the 3870 works for you? I have been a huge fan of ATI my whole life and a year ago I went w/ NVIDIA for the first time. Its a great card, I don't have any issues w/ it.

The 7900 GTX. It is only a 512 card though. :p:

War hammer will follow along DAOC roots which is the best pvp game I have played. Mythic has a strong track record there I am worried about the EA part but I am watching the 40k and how that goes

Yes, a year and a half later and...

Is anyone still playing this? I'm now on wiccana.

For those that gave up on the game (as I did) they've made some huge improvements to the game and added a lot of new content. There's a new patch coming out soon adding even more content.

The game is really cheap now and I think you get 60 days of free gameplay.

I was a Follower of Asura last March-July til I retired from the game.
