agreement has been reached

Awesome news !! Training camp is almost here and I'm ready for some football !!!

Can we please get a merge so that we don't have to run over 10 different threads to get info?

:bang2: :bang2:

But things look extremely promising. We're at the yard line.

Now, how are we going to get under the cap and retain Free?

This ought to be interesting, if not stressful.

Pay him .50 cents base salary for the first 3 years, then 40 million a year for the last 3 years of the deal?

lol.. idk. Its going to be tight, i just hope we can find a way to resign him and also that we don't have to cut some good talent from the roster to make it under the cap.

From what I heard teams over the 120 million cap will be given an exemption of 3 million this year as the cap from last year was 128 million.
Player safety and health are still a problem and the anti trust suit from Brady and the ten need to also be addressed. There were two other items not yet negotiated but wer needing to be in order to get at least a handshake deal. As per BSPN radio at 2105 hours.

No kidding. The Terence Newman situation looms large in my mind. I expect guys like Barber, Brooking and Colombo will be goners soon. Plus some contracts are likely to be reworked.

Plus the situation at DE and S are well documented here.

I guess it's time for Stephen Jones to work his magic.

As Adam has stated many times we will be just fine. We won't be hamstrung by the cap. He stated if we are not really active on free agency it will be by choice, not because of the cap.

If you run a search on Adam's user name, he detailed out how we could have 10-12 million in savings by reworking just a few contracts.

We're not in bad shape by any means.

If Adam were working in the front office i would do that.

Even if we saved 10-12 million that way, we'd still be like 7-9 million over the cap.

That's assuming all those players agree to rework their deals too.. if it happens.

Bottom line.. saying that if the cap is set at 120 million with only a 3 million exception, we arn't in a bad spot is just silly. We are definitely in a bad spot, a worse spot than any other team in the league besides Pitt i believe.
