Aidan Hutchinson struggling. can we capitalize?

Haven't watched much Lions this year, that being said anyone coming off an ACL tear is not going to be 100% the next year, if anything he should get better as the season goes.

In 2023, the only reason the Lions came close to beating us was because Aidan Hutchinson got 3 sacks. Tyron Smith was not good. He's gone now.

It wasn't Gibbs or Goff or St Brown that made it close...it was Hutchinson. This time, maybe we can just let him play himself out of the game with his current struggles. Our young O line is not looking bad. Booker had a great game against Chris Jones. Nate Thomas in the absence of Tyler Guyton was not bad. I think we had only 1 or 2 holding penalties against the Chiefs. Does anyone know exactly how many we had?

Just saying....letting their own struggles deteriorate on themselves might be a good idea. What pass rush do they have without Hutchinson? And Dak given time and comfort to throw has not been bad once this year. Ok maybe the Bears but I all but forgot what went on in that game.
AH isn’t struggling. Have you watched him play? Dude will be a factor, but our triple Tyler OL is coming into its on, which has been the key to every good season the Cowboys have ever had.

Where’s the struggling? He has 8.5 sacks and 71 pressures. He’s the fourth ranked edge rusher, according to PFF.
Lions have had 4 sacks the last 4 games as an entire unit. Id call that struggling.

Even their forums are really hyperventilating, citing their defense as a big reason for their recent losses and their inability to generate much of a pass rush.

Again, have you watched them play? AH isn’t struggling, but when they can double him almost every play and nobody else can get home, then ‍♂️? I thought the thread was about AH struggling, not the defensive rush overall.

Dan Campbell's comments on beating Dallas: "It's doable"

LOL. Sounds like a confident dude... lmao

Here’s a good article about Kelvin Sheppards press conference. I posted it a couple of days ago and it was deleted because included a quote that wasn’t in the article. The below is straight cut and paste :p

Aidan Hutchinson has drawn the criticism of some fans and analysts. After starting the season with 7.0 sacks in his first eight games, Hutchinson has just 1.5 in his last four contests. But Sheppard defended Hutchinson, calling him one of the best—if not the best—defensive end in football, and noting that he needs help from the other players around him.

“He knows just like we know, people are going to plan for him. That’s why he is one of the best and he has to combat that,” Sheppard said. “But it isn’t a one-man show. Other people have to win. And when I mean—I’m not just talking about Hutch, I’m not just talking about (Alim McNeill) Mac.

I thought Mac was a very impactful rusher in the middle all Thanksgiving day. But it just can’t be those two guys. When your name is called, if you draw a one-on-one, you have to win in this league if you want to be around. And it’s just simple as that.”

You said HE was struggling

as usual wrong

He is struggling to actually get to the QB over the last four weeks where he only has 1.5 sacks and it’s drawing some criticism.

The Detroit media and the Lions fans are talking about it a lot the last few weeks.

I don’t follow them as closely as the Cowboys but their boards are ones I visit a couple of times a week and a lot of their complaints sounds awfully familiar lol.

They have dumb fans just like we do. They complain at that he’s not worth the money, that he comes up short in big games and when they need him the most.

They complain that he always overruns the QB and ends up five yards downfield and the play passes him by.

They say he doesn’t earn his contract like Parsons and Garrett doZ

And as usual, your monosyllabic and combative self should pay closer attention. Do you think he has all 4 of those sacks the Lions have had in the last 4 games? No.... he's struggling along with his entire unit.

Dude, don’t sweat the pushback here, lol.

Most people just see a stat line and think they’ve got it figured out. You’re right. Their fans are getting rowdy and complaining.

ACL tear? He dislocated and fractured his ankle the same way Dak did in 2020.

The Lions defense is middle of the road . It’s the offense ( running game ) that will test Dallas front 7 . Goff should be sacked a minimum of three times he’s the epitome of statue
This.

They are banged up all over. But they just lost their starting corner and Joseph is likely out at safety.

I don’t think they have the dogs to keep up 36-35 unless Jameson goes bananas.

We should be able to use 5 man fronts to contain the run. Gibbs is going to get his. You just have the limit his explosive plays.’

It would be different if St Brown and La Porta were playing

Gameplan around him like we did with Crosby

He is a great player, but that D is struggling and banged up.

With their number one CB going on IR, if we give Dak time, we can hurt them in the air

The last 5 games their run D has been poor as well. Big game for Javonte and Malik

He's a bit slower due to that bad injury last year, but by no means is he limited. He's gonna be coming after us hard. Steele better have help.

If Nate can hold his own against Hutchinson, maybe some of the "replace Guyton" talk actually gets real.

They call that " moving the goalpost"
