Aidan Hutchinson struggling. can we capitalize?

In 2023, the only reason the Lions came close to beating us was because Aidan Hutchinson got 3 sacks. Tyron Smith was not good. He's gone now.

It wasn't Gibbs or Goff or St Brown that made it close...it was Hutchinson. This time, maybe we can just let him play himself out of the game with his current struggles. Our young O line is not looking bad. Booker had a great game against Chris Jones. Nate Thomas in the absence of Tyler Guyton was not bad. I think we had only 1 or 2 holding penalties against the Chiefs. Does anyone know exactly how many we had?

Just saying....letting their own struggles deteriorate on themselves might be a good idea. What pass rush do they have without Hutchinson? And Dak given time and comfort to throw has not been bad once this year. Ok maybe the Bears but I all but forgot what went on in that game.
if we make it to the playoffs, I bet all of those guys will be back and it will make things different, I'm not banking on anything

The only reason they came close was because Hutchinson tried to trip the Cowboys RB and the female ref claimed our TE did it to Hutchinson instead of Hutchinson trying to do it.
that was such a wierd and bee ess call. i'd forgotten about it. still infuriating

How is he struggling and somehow Parsons his elevated apparently people are being different with the two? I thought pressures was all that matters and and the sack totals are respectable so how is he struggling exactly?

Has he been as dominant I don't know I don't watch the games but it's not just about sack totals I believe they have some pretty good pressure rates over there... The not hitting home thing is hitting home with me I mean they're not getting to the quarterback but they're putting pressure our teams doing the same thing we don't have the stats to prove it, but we are affecting the quarterback...

TBH I don't have an answer for you because I don't follow the lines I just see the record He's still really good I know that somehow trying to say he's struggling II don't think that he's struggling..

I mean isn't it the same as when Parsons for long stretches of the season is taken out of games because they pay so much attention to him that it's up to the rest of the team I mean in that the excuse we gave for Parsons for having all these pressures but not getting home and getting sacks I mean I don't know I don't watch the Lions but I know I wouldn't use the term struggling, week 13 coming and 8.5 sacks seem solid to me..

I Googled Aidan Hutchinson's pass rush win rate, and actually found a PFF article published this morning.

https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-pass-rusher-rankings-week-14-2025

Hutch is 1st in the NFL in QB pressures (even ahead of Garrett and Parsons). He's 4th in the league in pass rush win rate, behind them and Will Anderson. As far as PFF pass rush grade (always a bit nebulous), he's 4th.

So no matter how you slice it, Hutch is playing like a top-five edge rusher in the league. Yes, his sack total is down, that's why sacks are a high-variance stat. He is beating the tackle in front of him at an All-Pro rate.

Man, I hope Schotty sticks to the run if it's working and knock the fire out of Hutchinson with Big Nate's run blocking. Should be a good battle OL vs DL.

He had seven of those sacks in the first seven games. “Struggling” is relative. Compared to average defensive ends he’s playing very well.

Compared to the standard of an elite pass rusher he’s struggling over the last month or so but is still having a great year

No one is calling him trash. Their fans are just frustrated, feeling he may have gotten paid and is not going to match his prior performance.

Honestly their fans are doing the same silly things Cowboy fans did.

You run at a pass rusher so he does not pass rush you.

And as usual, your monosyllabic and combative self should pay closer attention. Do you think he has all 4 of those sacks the Lions have had in the last 4 games? No.... he's struggling along with his entire unit.
None of the numbers you blather show what you claim

looking at his game log I see very little evidence for your claim
and by the way his stats for this year show he could have a career year. 8.5 sacks with 11.5 his career high
so as usual you are full of it

Very odd to call out a hall of fame player for 2 reasons.

1. Hutchinson spent 90% of the game lined up over the right tackle not left tackle and the major point swing sack in the 4th that took the cowboys out of field goal range was clearly him lined up against Steele

2. Tyron literally made 2nd team all pro that season

How in the heck did you watch that game and translate it too "only reason it was close was Tyron was awful"
I didn't say the only reason was Tyron was awful. I said only reason was Hutchinson got 3 sacks. Dude come on now
@Yobwocs , you gotta admit. @Tussinman kind of owned you there, bro. You got caught trying to blame Smith for ol' Turnstile Steele's shortcoming?

I think we'll capitalize on the starting guard, St. Brown, and La Porta being out, and limit Hutchinson for sure. GP and Lamb are coming to eat on these backup CBs.

it's a weak ownage at best. It's not even worth arguing. Steele gave up 2 sacks, Tyron gave up 1. both weren't very good in that game. THAT GAME being the key word.

Man, I'm just messing around. I think we'll handle Hutch tomorrow, because they're the one's that are banged up this time instead of us. We're in better health then them at them moment, and that really might be the difference. It's fortunate we play them now while their playmaker are out.

Dallas will give Hutchinson the Micah treatment. AKA week four against Green Bay. No matter what side he lines up on, expect a lot of plays the opposite way. Make him run and chase and tire him out any way possible.

They can’t even vote or drive right and now we allow them to be NFL refs …….
