I think the team will let this hang over them for a while and frankly they should. They need to remember how bad they felt after this loss so they (at least the leaders/star players) can use it as motivation to come back bigger and better then last season. Romo used the bad snap to motivate him to get better, work harder, study more and he and players like TO, Witten, Barber, James, Ware, Ratliff and others will do the same thing.
Aikman is and will always be a Cowboy fan. When he talks on the Dallas media, he clearly shows his love for our team. When he's talking to the national audience, he's doing so as part of his Fox anchor persona and straddles the line so as not to appear bias towards the Cowboys.
I also do believe Aikman tends to see the glass has half empty while many of us see it as half full. Meaning, we've got a great young QB who will only mature and become even better, the best WR & TE in the NFL, a hungry RB in MBIII and a pretty decent OL which does need to improve. Hopefully our defense in it's second season in Phillips 34 will also get better.
We won't get better though if Jerry Jones don't add some necessary players either in FA and/or in the draft. We must add a speedy WR who can complement TO; best way is in FA (maybe Bryant Johnson from the Cards or Roy Williams if he becomes available). Given TO's age, we probably should also draft another WR. We also gotta draft a good speedy RB to team up with MBIII and very important to add a good young CB, maybe even 2. Would also like to see a good ILB brought in who can play the run and is very good in coverage. Tired of all those passes over the middle.
Wouldn't be surprised if we don't bring back Flozel Adams. He's a good LT but he turns 33 in May and doubt we can afford him when the money to keep him could bring us a good FA WR or a good CB & maybe a vet ILB who can play the 34 and brings intensity/fire, maturity, leadership which our defense desperately needs.
