Not so fast, folks.

Aikman was a tremendous QB, but he had the perfect situation. Farve would have won three titles in Dallas, too.

I don't believe he wins us 3. Favre was a gunslinger. In the 92 NFCCG, he most likely would have thrown a pick on that drive at the end when we were up only 3. You never knew what you were going to get. Aikman was great for the situation because he was more stable and reliable.

Favre was a good QB obviously but he pretty much lost 2 NFC title games on his own in the same fashion. 07 and 09.

I understand the perspective, however, Troy threw a lot of picks in the playoffs too -- 17 of them in total vs 23 TDs and that's despite having the best OL in the NFL history and the most productive RB in NFL history taking pressure off of him.

Favre threw 1.3 interceptions per playoff game in his career. Aikman threw 1.1 interception per playoff game. Frankly those numbers are very close.

But did Aikman ever throw any back breaking, game altering picks like Favre? Twice in 3 years he did with GB and Minnesota. That's the point. Do you trust Favre in the 92 NFC title game when we were up by 3 with about 4min left? The drive that started the dynasty pretty much.

I'm not saying Aikman is better. Favre had a longer career and was good far after Aikman retired but Aikman was better for our 90s teams than Favre would have been.

And while I'm on my rant, can anyone tell me who the hell Jay Novacek was before he came to Dallas? The guy was in the NFL for 5 seasons and we picked him up in Plan B. With Aikman throwing him the rock, he went to 5 straight Pro Bowls.

Can anyone tell me what Alvin Harper did after he left Dallas? Harper should give Aiman half his FA money because he never would have seen a dime without Troy at QB.

This idea that Aikman never elevated anyone's play is absurd. I woun't hold it against Troy that he couldn't get Martay Jenkins, Jason Tucker or Billy Davis to the Pro Bowl.

Aiken demanded perfection out if his teammates. He demanded them to run defy play to perfection and he wasn't afraid to get in their face to voice his displeasure. I admire that kind of leadership. This is not a knock on Romo, but I used to hate the silly little grin that he had on his face after throwing a pick. Troy looked like mud was ready to go on a killing spree after throwing a pick , especially if the pick was caused by poor route running or somebody not doing their job. Troy would be a hated man by these Cowboy fans that think it is wrong to lead in that manner. I really enjoyed watching Troy chew out the oline for screwing up. Those fits of anger was a thing of beauty. Of course Troy demand perfection out of himself as well as was even harder on himself than he was other players, so they respected Troy enough to take his verbal abuse.
