I agree. It has to be some kind of trolling because it doesn’t make sense. How can a true Cowboy fans devalue Troy’s performance/talents/accomplishments if they’re not trolling? They aren’t real fans. If you out yourself as an Aikman hater then you’re outing yourself as a troll and can’t be taken seriously!!
Dak fans will fight you to the death in their belief that Dak is better than Roger.... just ask themAikman might win a Super bowl in this era but Roger staubach would completely dominate it.
Roger played in an era where the quarterback was basically a punching bag and a tackling dummy there was no protection.
Receivers could be flat out abused and if you look at those games just being able to complete a pass under those conditions was about a miracle compared to what it is now with the new rules.
Back in those times Roger staubach was feared by every opponent as long as there was any time on the clock because of what he was capable of doing with his arm and his legs
Roger would put the team on his back in a moment's notice and run the ball to move the sticks.
He was a competitor without equal who would absolutely destroy this talent diluted prima donna based pansy *** League we watch now.
He was the real deal the guy who elevated his whole team and made everyone play above their heads.
He thrived on pressure the polar opposite of what we have now.
Yeah good luck finding anybody to espouse that belief.Dak fans will fight you to the death in their belief that Dak is better than Roger.... just ask them
Without reading through all 6 pages in this thread, I would assume anyone trashing Aikman is a Dak fanatic. Every QB that ever existed pales in comparison to their hero. They're idiots who refuse to listen to common sense.I agree. It has to be some kind of trolling because it doesn’t make sense. This is as ridiculous as 49er fans saying Purdy is better than Montana because Ronnie Lott, Jerry Rice, Roger Craig and Charles Haley won his Super Bowls. Umm no. If a 49er fan was trying to argue that to me then I would question are they a 49er fan or a Purdy fan.
You already know the first person to tell this to... without calling him out. How many times do you have to hear the Stans talk about how they think Dak is better than any QB who has played over the past 50 years? The constant comparisons to Marino, Elway, Manning, Brady, Montana, and yes, the comparisons to Aikman and Staubach.Yeah good luck finding anybody to espouse that belief.
I am a Dak fan and I wouldn't put him in the same dimension as Roger or Troy.Dak fans will fight you to the death in their belief that Dak is better than Roger.... just ask them
Does Dak survive playing the game Aikman and Staubach had to play it? Highly unlikelyDoes he get Smith, Irvin, that defense and the Great Wall, too? I love Aikman, but let's be real, he did not do it alone.
That's what makes football a team sport. Would Smith, Irvin, and the o-line have done it without Aikman?Does he get Smith, Irvin, that defense and the Great Wall, too? I love Aikman, but let's be real, he did not do it alone.
Anyone paying attention at CZ knows those comparisons frequently happen on CZ. Maybe not by you, and definitely not by anyone with a shred of common sense. but those posts are out there.I am a Dak fan and I wouldn't put him in the same dimension as Roger or Troy.
Don't make broad assumptions. I can say Javonte Williams is a very good running back without making a comparison to Emmitt. So why would I compare Dak to quarterbacks with a combined 5 Super Bowl wins?
They know better. It’s all part of their agenda. It has nothing to do with talent.Without reading through all 6 pages in this thread, I would assume anyone trashing Aikman is a Dak fanatic. Anyone and their mother should be able to tell someone that QB's like Aikman and Staubach would thrive in todays game because of the protections afforded to QB's that they didn't have back in their playing days. Aikman only played 12 seasons, Roger had only 11. Both of them had to retire early because of the poundings they took every week. I was so upset the day Roger announced his retirement. Not so much for Aikman, but I was also a lot older when his retirement day came.
I am not one to mention Dak with the same breath as Aikman. Too much respect for the latter.Does Dak survive playing the game Aikman and Staubach had to play it? Highly unlikely
Now you get it.That's what makes football a team sport. Would Smith, Irvin, and the o-line have done it without Aikman?
No disrespect to Troy but the 90's Cowboys had a winning record with his backups when he was out. Hell they won games with Jason Garrett at QB.. They also had a winning record when Irvin was out.. We all know which player they DIDN'T have a winning record when he was out.. In fact that team's record when Emmitt was out or got hurt early in a game was abysmal. But I am willing attribute some of that to just how central he was to the offense. He was even more valuable to the offense than the QB was.. which is saying a TON!!That's what makes football a team sport. Would Smith, Irvin, and the o-line have done it without Aikman?
They aren’t Cowboy fans. They’re Dak fans. What happened to this fanbase in the last decade? So many trolls and Aikman haters. They know better. It’s all part of their agenda. It has nothing to do with talent.
100% agree!!Without reading through all 6 pages in this thread, I would assume anyone trashing Aikman is a Dak fanatic. Every QB that ever existed pales in comparison to their hero. They're idiots who refuse to listen to common sense.

I think we win regular season games without Aikman but no Super Bowls. Irvin swears by Aikman. I would love to bring Irvin into this discussion. Actually there's a podcast with Woodson and he addressed Aikman's impact on the team and how the offensive linemen and Irvin wouldn't tolerate any negative discussions of Aikman. They were very protective of him cuz he was the undisputed leader of the team. They asked Woodson this in light of the Hurts AJ Brown situation. That's what makes football a team sport. Would Smith, Irvin, and the o-line have done it without Aikman?
The "GREAT" OL that was horrible before Emmitt got therePeople seem to forget that when the OL play started to breakdown, both Aikman and Emmitt got booed.
