All Aboard the Romo Express

I've supported Romo. He was the biggest reason we lost tonight, but I'm on board. I know we'll be sticking with Romo regardless so I'm gonna support him and hope he finally figures it out in a "do or die" game.

I really wanted him to play well tonight. :(

We gave up nearly 300 yards rushing and the "winning" QB threw for 100 yards on a 50% completion percentage.

I beg to differ. It can't be that easy on opposing QBs. That was about the lamest performance I've ever seen from a winning QB in a long time.

His job was to drive the bus, which he did well enough. Romo instead was asked, once again, to carry his team to victory. He is good enough to do that frequently, but can't do it every single game.

We don't have a choice. We are stuck with Romo. Very talented player as his numbers indicate. But the history is there as someone who tends to "freeze up" in big spots. Sticking up for him is fine - I've been doing it for 5-6 years. But the same people blindly backing him would be singing a different tune if the same player was on a different team. Again, it's understandable. The guy is a Cowboy and has done a lot of good things for the franchise. But the reality of the situation hurts like a mutha. We are stuck and limited with him as our QB. Barring something drastic happening leading to vast improvement in others on the team, what you see is what you get.

Bigger than a D giving up 250 yards rushing and 3 rushing TD's?

Bigger than an Oline giving Romo no time to throw and unblocked blitzers coming untouched all night long?

Bigger than a coach that couldnt come up with one play to beat the blitz? Not ONE?

Bigger than his top two receivers limping off the field in the 2nd half?

Romo played like everyone else yesterday. Complete @#$%.

Yeah, all of that happened, but Romo got picked off on a dump pass with 3 minutes to go, down by 3. He had a chance to engineer a great game winning drive and overcome all of that, but it didn't happen.

I think Romo is an excellent player who, unfortunately, has shown that he can't be clutch when it matters most. There are enough data points now to come to this conclusion. We can't win big with him, so there is no need to extend him. Doesn't he have 2 years left on his contract? Hopefully we can find someone to move on with by then.
