.. need to spend more time reading the posts on this site rather than listening to their followers who are willing to be led in whatever direction they are told to go.

While I'm not thrilled T.O. is on the team (not upset either), the T.O. poll on here shows that basically 80% of the fans here supported the move yet "their" readers seem to all be against it and they simply feed on that emotion by attempting to lead the charge from the back of the pack.

At some point, these reporters need to drop their agendas, stop listening to the 2 fans who call or write into them and expand their research to learn that a great deal more of the Cowboys fans support Jerry Jones (and T.O. in this case) than not.

Why would reporters do that? They don't care if the fans liked it or not. They care about controversies, cuz controversies means $$$.

I feel like I'm watching my favorite show Seinfeld when you said Reality hates agendas! :)

I completely agree with you. Randy Galloway tried to make it a racial thing today, and Chuck Coop. and all them idiots just get on my nerves. They want the public to follow along with them, but the public is much smarter than that and I'm glad.

thats why you should not listen to them. If i want an honest opinion or accurate reports I just come to this site.

Then once I have the info I laugh at all the noise you see and hear on TV and radio.

I think what everyone is missing are fans like myself, people who couldn't stand TO (and still don't like him), but agree that he makes the team better and will support him so long as he has a star on his helmet. I guess they thought that the outrage would continue for months and that people would break their ankles jumping off the bandwagon. It hasn't happened. They underestimate exactly how much we, the fans, love this team.

Nick Eatman was saying the very same thing on dc.com's The Lunchbreak. They had a poll on the site with close to 200,000 votes with over 70% favoring the signing. He also said that TO jerseys were going fast and season tickets picked up very briskly.

Any idea what their sample size was?

One thing I notice when it comes to reporters out of Dallas.
When on ESPN or any other national forum they like to bash the team more so than reporters from other parts of the country .Almost like an anti-biased agenda if you will.
You do not see as much of this going on in other cities and I am not saying they should be drinking the kool aid but just do your job with a little class...

The media, in general, wonders why they get a bad reputation. Some of these guys take it upon themselves to be judge, jury, and executioners on whatever issue they want. Of course, they may change their mind for no reason a week later and pretend like they never said the other...

Meanwhile, some of these guys are alcoholics, cheating on their wives, sorry people who don't even take their job seriously. If it wasn't so annoying, it would almost be sad...

I hate to say this - I actually disagree. I know that 2 months ago, no way were people here so accepting of TO. When I was a more active member (before my current job) most of those fans I spoke to hated the idea.

Cowboys fans I talk to on a daily basis hate the move. My father has vowed to root against the Cowboys forever.

I myself have taken quite a step back in keeping up with the team (though I will still support the team).

My point is - I think everyone is aware that his talent will help the team. I think that. I will point out, however - the poll said 'He will greatly help the team' not 'i was behind the signing.'

This whole offseason has been tough for me, and I think it has been for quite a few fans as well.

I do think reporters are overdoing it, but not so much as this thread suggests.

There are 500 responses on that poll - no offense to the site - there are WAY more fans out there than that. These just happen to be the most faithful ones. :)

Right, and since most people who respond to polls and feedback are complaining about something, this even proves the point even more.

I'm sorry, but I hate Buddy Ryan more than any sports player or coach in ANY league, but if he's hired by the Cowboys, I'll still root for the Cowboys. I won't root for Buddy Ryan but I'll root for the Cowboys.

All of these so-called fans who say they're no longer Cowboys fans or going to root "against" the Cowboys are nothing more than hot air looking for a place to vent. The season is months away from starting and it's VERY easy to say whatever you want right now.

I guarantee you that almost every one of those people turning on the Cowboys now will be all excited if/when the Cowboys start winning games.

I'm not a fan of T.O. at all nor did I want him signed .. I just didn't want him on any other NFC East team .. that was my only wish. However, he's here .. like it or not .. he's here ..

We can gripe all we want, that's our right as fans, but I will never stop being a Cowboys fan and I will never root against the Cowboys.

I'm a life-long Cowboys fan and I will always be one. Period.

As I posted, dc.com had 200,000 on their poll and they also have plenty of fans putting their money where their mouth is.

And one other thing I'd like to point out .. most people's opinions are driven by the media and almost every radio and TV sports show commentator has been highly critical of the T.O. signing .. as a result, a lot of casual fans are going to believe what they hear and what they are told to believe.

Most of the users here do not fall into that category which makes our polls a LOT more credible.

I agree with that.

Although it is funny how probably 50% of the people that are Pro-TO now, where Against TO just 3-5 months ago.

That's kind of my point.

3-5 months ago this whole board hated the idea. I want to know where the love all of a sudden came from. It is kind of disturbing.

That shows that the polls are done by 'knowledgable fans.' That doesn't mean that make a poll more credible - a larger demographic makes a poll more credible.

A poll is meant to show what an entire community believes as a whole. A poll for a community of die hard fans reflects the opinion of die-hards, not all fans.

That's common logic. Any player with a troubled past is both wanted and unwanted by fans at the same time. However, when that player is not yet on your team, it's easier to say you don't want him. However, when you get that player then your opinion changes.

Mine is still the same .. I really don't care either way. I do have a problem with people who say they'll stop being a fan over the signing of a player. To me, no true fan would ever do that. Hate the player? Sure. Hope the player does bad? Sure. Hate the team over it? Not a chance.

I can't imagine that either - if you can stick around through Landry getting fired, you can stick around through this.
