I find it amusing that the Dallas Morning News guy says Felix has "descent speed"...... has he actually seen Felix run?? How about blazing speed?? Or something a little more dynamic......

Some of us knew last year that the Felix Jones was the real deal.

And some of us Razorbacks knew 4 years ago when we were screaming for them to move this Darren McFadden kid to safety so Felix could start at RB.

OK Maybe that wasn't the best idea...but the point is we knew he was exciting.

I hope so. I wasn't impressed with Julius at first, then he had a good game against Chicago and I publicly declared myself wrong and extolled JJ for being awesome.

Turns out the first impression was the correct one.

Having said that, Felix has impressed me more than JJ ever did. I hope he keeps it up!

I always thought Mario Edwards was exciting.

I always thought of punching you in the face too. :fight:

Talk about some lean years when Mario was around.

If Felix Jones stays healthy for the entire season, we could actually not just win a playoff game, but dare I say go to the big dance? I think so.

Felix could be the ticket.

I would say that Felix has elite speed and phenomenal agility. He'll be tough to keep out of the starting lineup by the end of the year.

His top speed isn't bad, but it's not exceptional. It's his acceleration and the smoothness that he has in making people miss that are what sets him apart. He goes from picking his way through traffic to top speed in a step. Really cool.

A Dallas Morning News columnist said he's the most exciting player since Tony Dorsett, quite a promising accolade.
Wow.

Just wow.

I see Felix's thing is that he doesn't have to decelerate as much as some back to make his cut, and then hes almost immediately back at top speed after the cut. Makes any lack of the very top end of speed much less of an issue.

Folks, it seems like Felix Jones is the real deal in silver and blue. The second-year half back has looked great in camp and has played well in both preseason games.

Jones provides the Cowboys with a useful weapon on offense because he can catch and run well. He has decent speed and strong hands. If Tony Romo is under pressure, Jones ought to be the first guy he looks for down below from a drop pass. His strength is avoiding tacklers, so take advantage of it.

A healthy Jones will go a long way to getting the Cowboys back into the playoffs and closer to winning one of those precious games.

I agree. That 50 yd. pass in the flat against the Titans was a great example. Once he caught it & broke a tackle, every Titan took a bad angle on him, because he accelerated so quickly, they were grabbing air. His speed is very good, but if it were great, he would have taken it to the house. I'll take what he got, though...ha ha.

FJ makes me smile every time he touches the ball. I'll have to add one more asset-the ability to break tackles. He doesn't have great upper body strength, but his legs are like pistons. He can take between-the-tackle plays to da house, once he breaks tackles & gets into space. I hope that Garrett is planning to use him a WHOLE lot more in the regular season than he has in preseason. It would be a total waste of their greatest weapon.

The only reason he got caught on that play was because our WR hit the guy who tackled him - and gave him a boost down the field. The guy had a decent angle, but Felix already made that up.

Others thought Rashard Mendenhall was clearly better.

Who was it that made the comment at the Draft that we already had that kind of RB in Barber? Oh yeah, our OC who doesn't know how to use him.

Dumb luck.

I'll bite. Yeah mendenhall scrubbed his rookie season. Felix showed glimpses of big play potential both ended the season hurt. So if Felix or Mendenhall neither can stay healthy then it's a moot point. I should of stuck to my guns and kept hyping CJ then you couldn't make this silly comments. With that said if we would of drafted Mendenhall first then Slaton later on we still would of been good. But it's whatever man.
