The leaders of four network sports divisions were asked a simple question at a recent industry conference: “Are you interested in bidding for ‘Thursday Night Football?’”

“Absolutely,” said Turner Broadcasting System President David Levy.

“Yes,” said NBC Sports Group Chairman Mark Lazarus.

“We always look at properties that come to the market,” said Fox Networks Group PresidentRandy Freer.

“We have an interest in doing another year,” said CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus.

ESPN was in a quiet period ahead of Disney’s third-quarter earnings release and did not participate in the Nov. 5 panel session that led off the 2014 NeuLion Sports Media & Technology conference in New York — but its executives have said they are interested, as well.

I don't really see why it matters to anyone, other than people making money off this, when the games are aired. It'd be one thing if there was some risk of missing your favorite team because they want to air games at 3pm on a weekday and you'd be at work, but that's not the case.

If there was football on 7 days a week, it wouldn't mean anything. I'm still only gonna watch the games I find compelling and ignore the rest. I'm not going to watch Oakland play the Bucs just because it's on Thursday night as opposed to Sunday.

I'm not a big proponent of Thursday night football, but I would like to see another network produce the broadcast...
Turner, or NBC.... (I would like to see NBC back in the game)

I could take them or leave them.

Maybe go to having 4 to 6 at the most Thursday night games throughout the year.

I definitely do not like the night game on Thanksgiving.

Another thing I don't care for is the early game to open the season. Having the SB winner host a game.
Unless it's the Cowboys hosting it,,,,:)

Please, anybody but ESPN! I want to avoid that network at all costs!

If anything, I'd like to see them lose Monday Night Football and be completely shut out from the entire NFL.

And Marvel!

But there I have little problem with them.

I just don't like ESPN's brand of tabloid sports coverage. It's obviously run by businessmen and not people who actually care about sports.

a little off topic, but they are the controlling interest in college sports as well... sad...
RIP Georgetown vs Syracuse..... RIP Old Big East...

Sad thing is, they will not give up the Thursday night games.
And worse, they will not give up on getting a team in London.

They will force it upon on us still.

The Thursday night games are terrible, and not just on the play. The overall presentation is lacking...there's little enthusiasm from Nantz and Simms. Sounds like they're just cashing a paycheck
