Sam Hurd looked very good last year.Jamaica Rector has talent.Miles Austin has talent.Remember where TO went to college,Tennessee Chattanooga.I think we have some instore talent here, and maybe we can get a good reciever at later rounds as well.We need a cornerback or safety bad.

lets talk about $@* baby...lets talk about you and me...

i'm most impressed by how the young gunz are putting them selfs into positions to take advantage if one of the starters goes down. I'm rooting for Austin and Hurd the most

Drafting a WR is about the future.

I like Hurd, Austin, Rextor, and Crayton. I do not believe they can one day replace Owens and Glenn. Crayton has a shot. The rest, no way.

Sup Zoners....Long time reader First time poster.

Hurd,Austin, and Rector have a good chance to replace Owens,Glenn, and Crayton...no one thought a 7th pick named Marques Colston had a chance to replace Joe Horn.

Basically, dallas shouldn't draft anyone until the 7th round because all of the late round picks on the team have the potential to turn into a player with as much production and impact as a 1st rounder.

What have we been thinking? What has everyone been thinking? Who needs 1st round talent?

Can't draft a FS because Watkins is a sure thing to bloom. Can't draft a WR because of all the undrafteds the team has. Those guys are sure to step in and fill a dominant role.

I don't even see a reason for having a 1st rounder......how about Dallas trades their 1st for 2 seconds.....

turn around and trade the 2 seconds for 4-3rd rounders.......funnel those into 8-4th round picks.....Man, I really like where this is headed.....

Then maybe see if they can package a few of those 4th rounders and maybe come up with like 12-5th rounders. Turn around again and see if there is a team or a bunch of teams who are willing to swap up. Maybe get like 18-6th round picks......Do it again and try to acquire a few more picks......maybe swap all of those 6th rounders for a few extra 7ths.......

Dallas could field half of a teams worth of "GUARANTEED POTENTIAL" with 24-7th round picks......

rofl.

Hurd has 5 catches, ever.

Marques Colston is a great story, but theres 100 other low round WRs who never catch more than 20 passes in a season.

I've seen Hurd, Austin, Rector et al with my own eyes and these guys are just not starting caliber NFL WRs. If they were they would already be playing and getting tons of catches. T.O. was hurt, Glenn was hurt, they didn't get out of the game much at all because they were so hard to replace.

The words calm down come to mind. :)

I like all of our players but its a greater than zero chance 1 or 2 of the aforementionned guys do not even make the team.

CAlm down this is what happens when we could do with upgrades but there is no glaring need its called a difference of opinion.

We need to add some quality depth to some areas and give some high drafted guys a chance to compete for starting places and FS and WR are definately 2 of those but it wouldnt be a complete disaster if we didnt draft one or the other in the 1st.

Austin helped his chances as a return man. I don't know if these guys will developed or not but I think it would be in Dallas best interest to go after a WR in this draft 1st or 2nd rd considering the depth of the draft at this position.

I'd concur of course.

I think, as Hos mentionned, you have to look long term and it's pretty unlikely anyone currently on the roster is a #1 WR after Glenn and TO leave.

I'll gladly bet right now the bottom 30 players in the league against the top non-QB drafted. Anyone can have all 30 and I'll just take number 2 or whomever that is not a QB.

Once a guy is in the league his play speaks for itself.
I really like the local guys like Rector and Tysom Thompson and Patrick Crayton but it only takes a couple of plays to see they are not Emmitt and Michael Irvin and will not ever be:)

It's been said that this year's crop of WR's is special, so if someone like Ginn, Bowe or Jarrett is there, we strongly have to look at it.

Hurd and Rector and Austin are highly unlikely to ever be more than #3 receivers...all have serious flaws.

We need to draft another top WR for the future....last time we took a WR in round 1 was Michael Irvin back in the freakin' stoneage....If I wasn't so lazy I'd look back and see just how many teams have gone that long without a WR in round 1...I'm guessing very few.

You can't play around with key skill positions...you need blue chippers if you hope to have the IRvin's, Aikman's, and Emmitt's in the NFL.
