What was up with that? I don't remember Bled throwing one of those.

I'm assuming the coaching staff feels that Bledsoe's release is too slow. Way to easy to give up six on those if it doesn't get there on time.

Bled can't take the snap, turn to his right, and fire it to Glenn? Yikes.

he can, but Ds know it's coming, and see Bled staring him down

too risky

I wonder if its a question of 'can't' vs. a question of 'won't'

it is clear that Bledsoe telegraped that play every time. He just was not fast enough. They looked great with Romo throwing them.

Good to see. I think screens will be effective soon too.

Re-watch the games. Drew did throw a few, however this game after the first few possessions, teams realized they couldn't play as close to our receivers, because Romo did buy a significant amount more time than bled. Which means the closer they played they more seperation they would give up as time ticked on.

HENCE the cushion, to prevent them from getting beat deep.

The coaching staff is setting washington up. Next week, expect to see a double move off that play for a deep ball. I actually like the offensive play calling this season, for the most part. Setting the fake draw up a week in advance was awesome!

I'm starting to think BP pulled Bledsoe after one half last week because he didn't want to risk us lucking out with some defensive scores, winning the game, and having to start Bledsoe in Carolina.

With all those quick passes, Romo needs to keep the defenses honest by throwing deep sometimes. He has a quick release, but defensivebacks will start jumping those passes. All in all he played well, we might have something here. Lets just watch and see how he develops. I do remember the last time Bledsoe lost his starting job, that team went on to win the Superbowl that year. That QB is a star. So anything is possible. Oh yeh, I am not saying Romo is the next Tom Brady. I am saying anything can happen. It was only one game. Just sit back and lets see what happens.

Carolina uses those alot with Steve Smith, well they did last year. Basically, anytime the Carolina corners gave a big cushion, Romo looked for that play. It's actually pretty smart, not only because TO is good at it, but because when the CBs are 10 yards off, there's little chance of an int.

Romo doesn't take as long to get the snap, set up, and release as Bledsoe does.
Romo gets set up to throw much faster. By the time Bledsoe had secured the snap, taken his drop, and was ready to throw, defenders were in his face. Romo has quicker feet, and a quicker drop. He also seems to secure the snap more quickly. Then, of course, his release is light years faster than Bledsoe.
Makes it much harder for a DB to react.
Romo's INTs happen when he throws it directly to the defender rather than allowing a db to make a great play.

Romo did throw deep twice both times Glen and Owens got to close to the sidelines and gave him no room to throw so he threw it outofbounds over their head

You've got to be careful with those screens. If you telegraph or become predictable with that play, the CB may have a chance to jump the route, likely leading to an INT and 6 points the other way.

One of those passes went to Fasano on 2nd and goal from the seven. I guess they were counting on him to shed the smaller CB. He didn't.
