Romo 2006

Trying to think of QB's who busted out of the gate fast, and these were the first ones who came to mind. Who am I forgetting?

Romo had the most yards of these four. He's also the only one to complete at least two thirds of his passes in each game.

Jeez. Warner was good before Roy broke his hand. At least I think that's when his wheels started coming off.

He was struggling before that game against Dallas. He had 1 TD and 7 INTs before facing the Cowboys. He added one INT to his total and I believe that was the play where he broke his hand.

Marc Bulger has a pretty good start, but probably not to the level of these guys.

Warner's talent around him began to be diminshed around him and he also hit a slump that was followed by physical injury, for three seasons he was the best QB in football but then the bubble burst but not before two MVP awards and two Super Bowl appearances.

The talent Romo has around him is comparable in gamechanging wowness but Romo has a different style than Warner in the fact that he is mobile and quicker with his release.

Mike Martz system with a great OLINE and tremendous offensive firepower

In that first season, the Rams just kept taking times by surprise. The opposition that year probably overlooked them since the Rams had been struggling the previous few seasons. Before they knew it they were behind. I don't think teams really started taking them seriously until later in the season.

And i take it Romo is younger than warner at that time!
Romo is 26 and Warner was 28 and nearly 29. Basically he hit his performance peak and then was famous for the downside of his career.

Bulger is right up there, with 12 TD's, 4 INT's and a 108 rating in his first five starts.

Bulger's team is not good enough to take it to the next level however. Torry Holt is phenomenal and Steven Jackson is soldid but you can stop the Rams and you can score on the Rams.

Another thing about Warner is he was always playing (Arena League, NFLE) up until he came to the Rams in '98. Then it all came together for him in '99 with Martz' arrival and the injury to Green. Romo was out of competitive action for much longer than Warner was.

And Aikbach, I agree about the current Rams. I was just comparing Bulger's 2004 start to Romo's.
