Am I just too much a Dallas homer that I take for granted that Philadelphia is overrated?

Inviting others to speak some sanity into my brain. I'm just very, very hard pressed to convince that last season's debacle of a 2nd half in PHI was somehow a one-off, and that their strained faith that Siriani/Hurts can pull it together even having lost arguably the soul of both their O-line (Kelce) and their D-line (Cox) won't prove to be foolish.

Talk some sense into me.

Well they’ve got KM calling the offense so that’s a huge obstacle they won’t be able to survive. We’ll be seeing a lot of Philthy fans here crying.

Their falling off the cliff last year was awesome until we did the same thing against Green Bay. Philly was a disaster too. They are talented but I'm surprised to see how hyped they are by the talking heads after last years disaster. There seems to be some turmoil between the coach and QB. So it will be interesting.

Check the latest odds to win the Super-Bowl. The bookies are usually pretty accurate. Philly is the 5th most likely team to win it all. Dallas is the 11th most likely to win it. That's a big difference. Philly is a good team. Dallas isn't that far off though.

I'm in the camp that thinks KM is a good offensive coordinator too, although Philly may not be the best fit for his style.

What happened last year with them was baffling. They weren't playing that well even when they were winning all those games. I think losing their OC and DC-especially Steichen-and replacing them with crap was just too much to overcome. I watched a number of their games and could predict practically every offensive play they ran the second half of the season. They are a lot like us in a way: a good dose of top end talent with rookies/2nd year players mixed in. Both coaches are sitting on a seat as hot as the grill on Sunday. People will always rate talent highly, and the Eagles have plenty of it. I am still not sold on their back seven though. They need rookies and 2nd year players to step up on the defense big time.

The Eagles the last time I looked were a 2.5 favorite over GB this weekend. I do not get it. I think the Packers win the game straight up.

Too often that's been missed. Recall a thread here titled something like "Eagles not so much winning games as they are surviving."

No argument. But this early, I think they're more prone to assessments that have little regard for intangibles... they were arguably super talented last season, but the sum of the outcome turned out to be less than the sum of the talent inventory.

I am unsure whats going to happen this year hopefully dallas can overcome the curse of the repeat division winner. I got them anywhere between 12-5 and 10-7. if they go to 9-8 it will have to be a WC birth. I think Philly is more talented across the board but we havent played a game yet this year

I picked the Eagles to finish 3rd in division. I think Washington has a better year than them.

Oftentimes, the sum of their parts just doesn't seem to add up.

They're not the only ones who possess that identical problem.

The Cowboys have certainly been known to identify with that.

Yes, because on paper they look scary. That being said the downfall of the team could be their coaches up and down the sidelines so their season could derail real quick if they start off poorly. You cannot find a team on paper that looks as good as them, but as we saw last year games are played on the field and not on paper. No offense but I am a Cowboys homer for 40 years, but I can also be objective as much as I hate teams like the Iggles and their fans

Hard to say.

Philly has the best offensive lineup I've seen in maybe a decade. Hurts isn't a top 10 QB, IMO. But he's a leader, and maybe that's all they need.

Lots of defensive question marks, though, even though they did an admirable job addressing them.

They have a dangerous roster but if they don't have early season success, that locker room could spiral and turn on the QB and coach. Sounds a lot like the situation we have.

Their head coach lost following the season of going up to the Lombardi and failing. Who in NFL has come back from that very albatross and ended up back at that very status, beyond Buffalo against Dallas, many many years ago and against Jerry at that?

Philly always wins the offseason on paper. Then they play the game. On paper they have studs on offense.
Let all the pressure be on them. I have no problem with that. The fans in Philly are clueless about KM. When that offense stalls numerous times in the red zone, I will be laughing.
