Am I stupid for hoping rivera doesn't play saturday?

He has been awful lately. If he opens a hole it is only because he gets flagged for holding. Personally I'd rather see peterman get a shot in there. He's primarily a run blocker anyway. I'll be happy with peterman just as long as he doesn't get penalties called on him like rivera.

Or we could also put Gurode back at guard. He's a big man and should be able to run block a little bit.

Rivera get's pushed back into Bledsoe more than I've ever seen someone get pushed back. I don't think his back is right - Time to retire

so you don't think further care and rehab all winter would be useful right?

We'll find out in TC next year when someone challenges him for that position. I wouldn't just give it to him though.

I don't wish any harm on Rivera, and I don't want his injury to be severe. In fact, I don't want the team to throw in the towel since there is still a chance at the playoffs. But I would like to see what Peterman can do. I would even like to know whether or not Gurode should be in the long-term plans.

Do you remember why we signed Rivera?

We need more power up front this week....I'd start Gurode at C and Peterman at RG....the heck with it...give it a shot. I don't think they're even expecting Rivera to play, but who knows.

I'd try LA at LT, and Gurode at LG and Peterman at RG.

I'd do anything, just take tucker out of the game. I don't care how many changes we make, it absolutely cannot get worse.

No......only because it would be good to see if any of these young lineman can play in the NFL!

Personally ima bit torn as well. Rivera seems like a hell of a guy, but that injury may have pushed him over the edge as far as his body is concerned. I am hopeful that an offseason is enough time to recover. Either way we really need to get some more depth at G, I dont want Gurode forced to start.

Hey, hasn't Peterman been backing up at left guard ? Can he play the right side?

dont feel bad. I hope for the same. The only thing worse than watching an OL get bull rushed is watching an OL get bull rushed with a 9MM bonus. Heres to waste of money

I hope he doesn't play just so we can see how much Peterman sucks - then we can cut him this offseason and not cling to the hope that he has any long-range potential. Just another BP OL bust like the rest of the OL on the roster.

That 2004 draft looks worse and worse by the day. Looks like all we get out of it is Julius, who half the board undeservedly wants to push out of town, Crayton who looks like a #3 WR, and Reeves and Jones who don't look like they belong on any NFL roster.

I still do have hopes for JJ to put together a better year next year after his ankle is rehabbed - that is assuming Sprano is fired and a real NFL-caliber OL coach is brought in.
