Am I the only one NOT worried about the OL 2 months later?

Way back in June I posted a thread titled "Am I the only one NOT worried about the OL?" for days upon day I was berated and belittled. Now after seeing 4 pre season game have you guys came around on this line?

I may have gotten the combinations wrong (largely due to injury) but my main point as having T Fred as an anchor and have "decent" play will get us through. I know it's just the preseason but has your overall opinion on the Oline changed any? To at least serviceable or do you still feel we are up [a] creek?

Im more worried now than ever before, and I never felt particularly good about the Oline.

I'm not worried actually I like the projected line you have youth and talent along with a vet. I think it could develop into a solid line. Obviously Free and Parnell have to show improvement. I've seen nothing out of Free this summer that says he won't continue his solid play. So with health being a lucky factor I have high hopes

Do you really feel the need to pat yourself on the back? With all the Cowboys fans in the world you really think you are the only one?

I'm not sure "worried" is the right word. It's football...it ain't that serious. But, I would say I'm concerned.

There's been literally hundreds of threads from folks who are concerned about the offensive line.

I applaud your optimism and if you subscribe to Quantum Physics- more should.

we have one guard who has never been in a regular season game and the other just moved to that position a week ago, of course any rational person would be concerned about our oline

You realize it has just been preseason and we haven't gotten a game plan featuring a steady diet of blitzing and matchup problems yet. When the other teams challenge our O-line more in the regular season and we look good then, that is when you can pat yourself on the back. Wayyyyyy too early.

damn tough crowd, as a position group they are the weakest. But the sky is not STILL falling or not as fast.

I'm still concerned about the OL, I do think it will be better than it has been but how much better? I don't know, we are about to find out.

Still more concerned about our pass defense than I ever was about our interior OG play. C and OTs were the biggest issues with the OL last season, anyway. I do wish we had better OG depth, but that's really the addition of one mid-round, mid-roster player we're talking about. Basically, give me another healthy Kevin Kowalski and I'm ok with our mediocre-or-worse OG play as long as it's consistent and we're not juggling up and down the roster with a different ankle or knee injury every other week.

I feel good about the defense and I think we will see this group creating turnovers. If Dallas can do that and continue their play in the red zone they have displayed so far then this team has a chance to go far. As far as giving up yards which tampa 2 defense tends to do I'm not worried about as long as we can create the turnover

Honestly, I feel good about what I've seen, too. I just know the pass defense was the real issue we've been struggling with the last two seasons, and I'm not going to be comfortable with it until I can see that the problem was solved.

With all the talk about scapegoating Rob Ryan and the nonsense that accompanied all that, it's obvious the team made the change because they recognize that they absolutely have to get takeaways to improve this team. *That's* been the issue, all along, with the OL personnel being a distant third (TO differential and the related pass defense) in terms of priority.

I guess because I have seen what Kiffin and Marinelli I'm very encouraged. Their defense creates turnover and here in Dallas that is stressed constantly by them. Guys are swarming to the ball, guys are ripping at the ball when it hits the ground guys going after it no matter if the whistle blew or not.

I agree. It's what we've needed. And I *love* the Bears and SEA defenses, if our personnel play anything near that level, I'll be stoked.

I just want to see the secondary hold up when offenses start targeting our weakest spots in the secondary. I *think* they'll be ok, but I won't be sure until I see it happen.

Truth be told, I'm also concerned about our ability to handle off-tackle runs and the read-option offenses. Until I see it handled in a game that counts, I'll be uncomfortable.

I worry less about the interior OL because I already know that's been a liability, and that we can move the ball anyway. And, if anything, we've improved inside at both C and LG.
