Whenever I click on the Zone to catch the latest, that there will be an injury headline?

It's part of camp I guess, but I dread hearing anything like Sean Lee last year or Romo's back, etc.

Just thought I'd share my phobia lol

Nope. Me, too.

It's part of camp. Attrition. Within a week, there'll be 3-4 big names around the NFL that are down for the season.

Hold your breath.

That's the worst part of TC, losing player(s) for the season before it even gets started. It happens to everybody, though, so it's just one more reason to get a strong 53 from top to bottom. But, yeah, I dread those threads each season where some impact player or key role player is lost for a season or a big part of it. Lee, Lawrence, Mo last season, for example.

Welcome to my life. I'm worried after every play until I see them all get up and get back to the huddle that someone's been injured.

Injuries will always be and always have been a catastrophic element of the game, especially whenever a crucial position isn't bolstered with a viable backup. Romo is a sterling example of that scenario. I'm concerned for him somewhat feverishly but there's little to do but hope Dustin Vaughn sees miraculous development in camp. I'd like to say the same for Brandon Weeden but can't help but feel that might be asking for something beyond a miracle.

Dude! We don't speak of this! Go knock on wood! Spit and spin around seven times! Turn your clothes inside out and change your socks.

I'm not joking.

And for goodness sakes close and delete this thread.

Worrying about things out of my control has always struck me as pointless. What will be will be.

True, but I just hate it when guys get hurt in meaningless exhibition games. If you're going to tear up your knee, do it when it counts. That way, it's at least got meaning and context.

The vets really only play 4 or 5 quarters over the preseason. They need to hit and be hit by an opponent in preparation for the season. It's a necessary evil and the quality of football especially early in seasons is already down in the wake of the new CBA. Botched plays/assignments, turnovers, and a swarm of flags as well as an uptick in soft tissue injuries.

This time is about all the young players that need this experience to get better like my man Ken Bishop. Collins, Jones, Gregory, Wilson, Russell, Swaim, Gibson, Patmon, Hitchens, Whaley, Gardner, Crawford, Escobar, Beasley, Martin, Randle, and so on. Wilber apparently is looking the part running with the 1's. If he can regain his 2013 form at SAM that would be a huge boon.

Nope. I worry too.

Commanders already lost Beshaud Breeland to what is probably an MCL.

Injuries are why I try not get too caught up in making projections. A team can lose a key guy and then, poof, that's it. On the flip side, a team can rise to the top when a rival loses a key guy or get some unexpected help on the schedule by catching some would-be top teams when they're caught short a little bit personnel wise. You really never know.
