Am I the only one that is completely disinterested in this year's SB?

Not disinterested at all, I'll be a real football fan forever. I do think we should be here, but we aren't we lost. Go Pats.

Actually... I am too.

Enough of "Deflategate", enough of Tom Brady's cold (Tony Romo was sick to his stomach before the Thanksgiving game in 2013, but woe to Tommy who has the sniffles), enough of Marshawn Lynch's missing speech gene; let's just get this darn Super Bowl over with.

With the Cowboys getting so close this year, and having beaten one of the teams in the Super Bowl, my interest is waning by the minute.

That is completely disinterested in this year's SB?

In 32 of the past 37 years that the Cowboys were not in the SB I was still excited to watch the "Big Game" - despite my team not being in it. My love for football and the excitement of a team being crowned a world champion was enough to draw me in. The biggest difference from the cowboys super bowl years versus non super bowl years was I only watch the pregame stuff for cowboys SB's. It didn't even matter who was the SB even when I despised both teams (NY/NE several years ago comes to mind) I still was eager to watch the game. This year is different. I really could care less about this game. I am much more interested in watching the Australian Open Men's final than watching the SB. The events that unfolded this year have really jaded me to football. I thought after a week I would be over our playoff lost, ready to move on - watch the pro bowl....watch the SB...and start gearing up for the offseason, FA, the draft etc. just like every year. However, this year I can't let the Dez call go (mostly because of how Bandino and the rest of the league/media has responded to it. Had they came out and admitted it was he wrong call and they messed up, I might have been able to move on. But this constant BS they are throwing at us (as if we were too stupid to figure it out on our own) and expecting us to go along with their BS excuses is insulting. Add in the handling of deflatgate which reeks of pushing the issue under the rug and displays a clear lack of morals and integrity by the league (the same league that acknowledges that the members of the NFL are role models for children), especially after 3-4 other occurrences when NE was found guilty of cheating. I also included how they handle off field issues with no consistency and at the discretion of the commissioner (unless there is a public outcry then we will be responsive), or the fact that the league admitted to collusion (not only a violation of the collective bargaining agreement but also federal law) yet penalize two teams for playing within the rules. Ohhh, and did I mention the wussification of the league?

I know this was a long rant, but am I the only one feels this way? If so, maybe I need therapy.

My Season ended in Greenbay, once the Cowboys are done, I am pretty much done with the NFL.

Even with it being here in town I honestly don't care at all. It probably has something to do with how the playoffs were run, first the refs in the Lions game sucking (both ways mind you), then with the blown call on the Dez catch, then the Packers just falling apart and the Pats cheating to win... this has been the ugliest playoffs in history and I just don't care who wins or loses. Ideally the Pats win... then have to forfeit the win because of cheating.

I've been disinterested in the past couple of Super Bowls and this one is no different. I'll turn it on but it will be background noise by halftime because I just lose interest. I love football, but it loses it's appeal when the Cowboys aren't playing or if the game doesn't have an impact on the Cowboys. Just my opinion of course.

Totally agree. I have zero interest but am socially obligated. I'l enjoy the commercials and the food.

Money determines outcomes in sports these days...and the related accolades.

In college football notice how the same teams year after year end up playing for the national championship...and what a coincidence that the "best college player" Heisman winner virtually ALWAYS plays in the national title game.

Meanwhile the NFL is a rich boys club that going back to its very early roots has owners with ties to gambling interests. And let's not even talk about their "non-profit" tax status or how the owners manipulate the public to purchase stadiums without the public receiving partial ownership of the venue!!! It's always been occasionally tainted...but it sure seems to be increasingly brazen.

It's worse than turds in the toilet. These people are truly scummy.

Other than being butthurt about losing, there's really no reason why people keep saying they're so disinterested in this game. From a football perspective, this is about as good as it gets.

You damn right i am butthurt. 2 playoff wins in 18 years. and then we have a chance to go play the Seahawks, for a chance to go to the Super Bowl. and it was taken away because of a BS overturn by the NFL in their refs.you better believe i am still pissed. ui will never let this screw job go.I did not watch any of the NFL championship games. in protest of this screw job. and i will not watch the Super Bowl in protest.

I am with you. I have little interest in this game. I don't really have any hate towards the seahawks other than a couple coworkers are fans. But how this whole cheating thing went down has soured me on the game. They think we are so stupid that we believe the lie that they cannot complete an investigation in a couple days. However, they are willing to suspend a player indefinitely if there is a pending court case against them. The league is trash run by a piece of trash commissioner. We now have non-football people in leadership position who haven't even played the game or participated in any way making monumental decisions. The NFL cares more about social causes than the game now. Its sad and its time they get their tax exemption revoked. Its turning into the WWE.

It's not even about being butthurt with me. I'm just not interested in seeing these two teams.

Nope. I couldn't care less about any SB that the Cowboys aren't in. I'll maybe have it on in the background while I do something else, but that's it.

I'm with the OP.
Complete and total disinterest.
Ironically,I just read this post after reading a few texts saying how some of my buddiescan't believe I'm not joining them for the game.
This will be the first SB that I wont watch live(TV) in over 35 years.
I'll enjoy the time with my kids.

The last Cowboygame broke me. None of the 8-8 seasons meant anything because those really were 5-11 or 6-10 level teams, imo. But this team, jag defense and all, was different. We finally had a shot, made the clutch play to take the lead to maybe get to the NFC title game for first time in about 20 years, and got it totally taken away. Who knows if we win there but that temporarily broke me.

Plus I could care less who wins this one.

Im in semi draft mode now or NFL at all

Non-profit? I don't think so. The NFL is, but the individual teams are not.

I placed about $300 in prop bets to keep my attention and do not care who wins.

That is completely disinterested in this year's SB?

We're hosting a SB watch dinner with the entire fam coming over. I made it clear in phone calls and texts this was about watching the commercials and praying for a halftime wardrobe malfunction. I know I'll be sick whoever wins the game and really have no interest in watching. This week and next week ESPN and NFLN are dead to me.

I find the match up rather interesting, so I will definitely be tuning in.

I really want to see if the Patriots offense execute a similar game plan that the Cowboys did. What will be the Defensive game plan to limit Wilson? Will Wilson and co bring in more read option to see if the Pats can effectively contain that? Can the Pats keep Wilson from running dueces wild on them?

I love my Cowboys to death, but I am a Football fan as well and like interesting matchups.

I can relate. Every year, a really good friend of mine and I meet up to watch the SB. We really don't get a lot of opportunities to hang out because our schedules often conflict. So every year, I enjoy the opportunity to catch up watch the game and partake in good food and drinks. I confirmed today that we will still meet up and I will enjoy the company and food/beer. I will not however, care much for the game that will be on the half a dozen tvs in the restaurant.

Check out the league status. Only scandal and collusion with corrupt government gives you that for a multi-billion dollar business.

And they have it.
