Am I the only one that thinks Nick Foles would do good here?

But he did win a good bit in Philly and you never know what caused the downturn in St Louis. He might thrive in our system. Don't act like 1 year makes or breaks a career. We have a much better chance of winning games with Foles by far and while you may try to discount that, there really is no logical argument to say that our scrubs and draft choices have a good chance to win games!

There is no logical argument to suggest that we have a much better chance of winning games with Foles by far.

The only time he played well was Kelly's first year when the league had no idea how to defend his up-tempo offense. Vick looked like a stud in that system too. Shoot, at times that system made Sanchez look like he was a stud too.

But once the league figured out what Kelly was trying to do on offense, Foles looked anywhere from bad to downright putrid.

I honestly think people suggesting he'd be a good backup for us haven't actually watched him play the last two seasons. He was dreadful.

Foles has the worst feet and pocket presence I've seen from a starting QB in years. The Rams were starving for a QB and they benched him if that tells you anything. Although, I think Fisher sucks at finding QB's!

I mean the Rams gave him an extension prior to the season because they believed he was the guy from 2013 and it didn't take them more than a couple of months to realize what a dreadful mistake they made and benched him even though he was making a lot of coin.

But he could come in and save the day if Romo goes down!! ;) nope.

I think I would take kellen moore over foles. Hell I would be trying to talk Windmill Windup Campbell out of retirement before I brought Foles in.

Apparently we are only capable of winning with a superstar under center so unless our backup is named Rodgers, Brady, Brees, etc.... I doubt they would be an adequate backup in our current system.

Maybe we could give it a shot with a defense that gives us more than, I don't know, 11 takeaways when our best QB/RB/WRs are all out for most of the season. Or it would be great if we had a staff that could just coach around the near-complete dearth of offensive play makers we trotted out last year.

Yes but how many teams were down their star QB and WR for better parts of the season and still made the playoffs. What the defense lacked in turnovers, it was tenacious, unfortunately when you are on the field a lot you will give up points.

The only other team comparable to us last year was Baltimore Ravens, and they didn't do well. That's with what most of the NFL considers an outstanding coach.

The issue wasn't the points. It was the lack of turnovers. And they really didn't have the excuse that they were tired. They just lack playmakers.

Couple of years back someone posted an article about turnovers by the defense. The gist being most defenses sit around league average and teams over a period of time no matter how good they are at getting turnovers tend to trnd to the middle. Dallas had a great year in 2014 because they were playing with leads grinding the clock making teams gamble to win, last year the offense was spuddering usually playing from behind or tied so teams did not need to take huge gambles and tended to run the ball and short pass the team to death. Hard to get turnovers in that scenario but I fully expected them to come down from their 2014 number but did not expect it to basically flip, if the defense can be middle of the pack in turnovers I thinki t will be "OK"

You're correct about our FO being happy with what we currently have. They won't be bringing another QB in unless an injury requires them to.

yes and I will add that after TC and preseason, they might decide they need a vet .
I also think with JG's offense it wouldnt be easy for any vet to come here a learn it good enough to run it.

That is why moore may be the best choice.
JG said not having murray and the run game of 2014 hurt the bkup qb's. so they feel with a good run game
moore can win games.

I think they wanted to bring in a vet, but didn't want to hand him the job. They wanted him to compete with Moore. That's probably why Matt Moore left Dallas without a deal. Maybe Colt McCoy, too, though that was never really reported.

I don't blame them for giving Moore his shot. I do think they should have found a way to get a vet to push him. Showers doesn't count, and Dak is a redshirt this year.

Wow yall just don't like to give players a chance unless it's a fan favorite player like Beasley then they get a pass.

Personally I want to see what Moore can do handling all backup duties.......anybody that says they have seen enough to know he will never make it is filling themselves.

I want to see if Dak can develop. He already looks better snapping the ball under center.

I also want to see how far Showers has came.

Stop with the wannabe quick fixes. This isn't Madden you can't just trade and sign whoever you want. Give the young guys a chance

Yeah the last thing we want is a guy that could actually jump in and get us to the playoffs

I believe that with this coaching staff and the way they have built this team, yes, they need an elite QB to make this entire thing work. I think there are other coaching staffs that can handle losing their starting QB............. this staff cannot.
