What many are failing to grasp is it is NOT the person under center....it is the SYSTEM. I am on record saying I do not want Jason Garrett "training" another QB in Dallas. As much as it pains me to say this...when Garrett is gone...Romo will be too...regardless of whether or not there is anything left in the tank. That is the REALITY that I hope Jerry accepts. So I am really saying that Garrett will be here 2 - 3 more years...regardless of his record over that span.

You bring up a very good point. A huge reason the Cowboys missed Romo so much last year was he was not only their best quarterback, but their best playcaller. How many times have we heard Romo "kill" a play and run something else based on what he sees? Neither Brandon Weeden or Matt Cassel were experienced enough in this system to make those changes.

So Weeden and Cassel (and later Kellen Moore) most often went with Garrett's or Scott Linehan's original call- and the offense finished 31st in points scored.
